Mōdish Nail Spa Plaza Midwood

Just wanted to tell you about my wonderful experience yesterday. I was out and about on a Saturday afternoon in the Cotswold area and decided I needed a pedicure and manicure. I tried two other places before and they were packed, dirty, and just didn't feel right. Then I stumbled upon Modish Nail Spa at Plaza Midwood. I had never been there before, but I remembered visiting their Matthews location once. The receptionists were super friendly and when I asked about the wait time without an appointment, they said it would be around 45 minutes. But to my surprise, they got me seated with Kim, the technician, in just 10 minutes. She did an amazing job with my nails and the place was so clean and had a great ambiance. Plus, they offered me a complimentary drink! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Tori is amazing and the vibe is awesome. I love what she did with my paws! And on top of that their chairs are everything! Very relaxing. I will return. They do need to get their WiFi fixed. Walking to get cash wasted a lot of extra time. Next day… so she didn’t do the greatest job on the heels of my feet and the rough patches. I realize that the government has changed the policies and rules of these shops but the point of a pedicure is to remove calluses and repair damaged spots on feet. For $55 dollars I should not have go home and redo those areas. So great nails and heels.

I have been going to this location since it opened and went to the previous location before that. But I am sad to say I will no longer be coming once a month every month because they stopped caring about the results. I came in today genuinely asking about why my red nails speckled colored from the last time I was in and they said it was the quality of the S&S powder and that lately it’s been bad quality and that they have nothing to do with it. So then we’re just gonna put bad quality of S&S on clients fingernails and hope that they don’t care enough that their nails are speckled or have confidence to say something the next time they’re in? So I asked if she could get the color and she did then she asked me what I think and I said well I don’t know what it’s going to turn out like what do you think since you see this powder every day do you think it’s gonna turn out speckled and she’s like yeah. I’m like OK well then can you provide me a different red color that won’t have that same thing happen. She went and grabbed that color showing it to me again and I said that looks more consistent so if she think that it is I’m good with it. I soak and thought about the interaction it didn’t feel great due to the fact that she didn’t care she deflected and she just wanted to just do the job and I guess who cares if I like them or not. So I got up and went to the front asking how Much it was for the soak off I just had. The front desk went and spoke to her looking like their conversation was more like a who cares if she wants to stay then a how did we get her to stay. Then the Front desk said don’t worry about it you can go. No why are you wanting to go no sorry what happened because they don’t care. I even said I’m surprised you’re not asking why but it feels like it’s because you don’t care. So no problem I won’t be back. I’m just a client that comes in gets the same thing each time follows the lead of my tech and tips well. So don’t bother they will put stuff on your nails that they don’t even stand by and hate you for asking why.

This place does not miss. I have had 4-5 nail techs, a different one each time. And every time my SNS comes out amazing. I love having a salon where I can do walk ins and know I’m going to get consistently good results 😍 Update: first time I had my nails done there by a male, and tbh I was not a fan of the finished product, my nails are uneven and my thumbs and index fingers are much shorter than my other nails. The women are a lot better. Will know better for next time.

Parking was tight, but enough people are coming and going that it wasn't terrible. Once you walk in you're greeted, seated, and offered a beverage. Vivi did my pedicure and the pampering commenced! I thoroughly enjoyed the total service. The hot towels on my legs after the oil massage put the experience over the top for me! Both men and women are welcome here. It was an excellent experience and I will be booking another appointment next month!
