UPDATE: My friend’s toe is now infected after getting a pedicure here, which confirms my suspicions about the tool’s (lack of) cleanliness. Very sad that this happened, and have no choice but to remove stars. Everyone here was so kind, truly some of the most welcoming and polite staff I’ve encountered at a nail salon. We were seated immediately, the vibe was relaxed, and they didn’t rush at all. I loved how my nails turned out, and the price felt fair for the service. That said, I did have some concerns. There was visible powder on the buffer blocks and pedicure files, which made me question whether those tools were properly cleaned and disinfected between clients, as required by Texas regulations. I also noticed that the tools were just sitting out on a silver tray. While it’s totally possible they had been sanitized beforehand, it was a little off-putting not to see them being unwrapped or clearly marked as clean. Same with the callus rasp: they’re allowed in Texas, but I didn’t see any cleaning done before or after use. A few small things also stood out: The swatch books were super bulky and hard to flip through. I would’ve loved a key ring of swatches I could hold up to my nail to picture how the color would look. The country music was a bit much for me personally, something more spa-like or even HGTV would’ve made it feel more peaceful. And while there was a sign above the storefront, it would’ve been helpful to have some kind of signage right on the door to make it easier to spot since this was my first time visiting. At the end of the day, the kindness of the staff and quality of the work were great, but the lack of visible sanitation and a few comfort details held me back from feeling fully confident about the experience. I’d say 3.5 stars, but I’ll round up because everyone truly was so kind.

Best nail place in Live Oak. Clean shop, new colors all the time and quality work. Works by appointment so I never have to wait.

My first time here and Ann was very sweet and did amazing on my nails. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did great matching the colors, I Absolutely love my nails!!!! She asks if I was happy with the work and would make any adjustments if needed. Both her and the new owner were polite, welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be returning. Definitely call and make an appointment. I Highly recommend them.

I love my nail so much! She did so amazing with the cateye and French design, perrrrrfect for Halloween! 🎃 definitely recommend! these nails will last so long, stop by a see for yourself!

Kathy’s Nails is awesome! The attention to detail and skill that goes in to their work is AMAZING. KC, her husband, and mom all do fantastic work. I have been very impressed with my nails and pedicures. I look forward to going back every two weeks for my self-care.
