Sunflower Nails

I was there today and highly recommend this place. Probably the best nail salon in Alexandria. Excellent manicure and pedicure for men. They don't rush, and they treat you with kindness and respect. Excellent massage and foot scrub to complement the pedicure. Look for the short girl wearing glasses in the Oi Oi shirt. I forgot her name, but she is wonderful and offers the best manicures and pedicures. Truly worthy of a good tip.

I love Sunflower Nails! I’ve been coming here for pedicures since I moved to VA in 2023, but just recently got my nails done for my engagement photos coming up. Mimi was amazing and so attentive to detail. I showed her an inspo photo but also explained I have zero idea what is involved with the picture I showed her. It’s been a long time since I had my nails professionally done. Mimi walked me through everything and took her time, making sure I approved every step. It’s a great team! I added the inspo photo and then my nails to this review - I specifically requested round shake and shorter.

I had an appointment on 7/3/25 to get a pedicure & manicure which was pre-booked, not fully realizing the upcoming Holiday. I was able to be treated to an 80 dollar pedicure by Anna which was great, however I had to leave due to an important work related phone call which I was unable to take in the shop due to many factors. After I took the call and had a good resolution, I decided to try to go back and complete my manicure, which was a way to save resources, only to be told in the most unprofessional way by, "Mimi", who must be some type of administrator of the staff, come back another day. It was approximately, 5 pm at the time and I'm sure someone could have become available in a few minutes to service me. The only thing I found to be concerning about my situation is When the lady came in w/out an appointment, as busy as they were that day, (she just happened to be Caucasian) they went out of their way to accommodate her. I had a 2:30 pm appointment and mitigating "circumstances" as to why I could not fully complete my session and had gave Anna, a 25 dollar tip for her service and did not feel like I got proper consideration for my situation. I will never patronize this shop again.

Jennifer is just the BEST! She is my Nail Fairy, Nail Whisperer, Nail Guru. I’ve been seeing her regularly for 3 sessions now and my nails are in the best shape ever. I’m a chronic nail biter and she’s helping me break the habit. This photo is acrylic tips with gel overtop. She’s absolutely great to talk to as well.

Do not come here. They do not handle nails with care or listen. They cut off my real nails that I had been growing out for months because they didnt bother to realize I didn’t have tips on, I am a reoccurring customer and always go to the sane lady, and she just chopped them off. And still tried to charge me full amount. Horriblr experience, if you care abt ur real nails DO NOT COME HERE.
