GDN Nail Bar

Went to GDN today and had my nails done by Jenny the new owner of GDN Nail Bar! I was skeptical at first because I’ve been going there for 10 years with the previous owner and staff. Let me tell you she didn’t disappoint she nailed exactly what I wanted. She was very nice and friendly along with her staff! I’m so glad I gave her a chance because she did a great job!! I always do a lot of designs and she nailed it hands down!! I highly recommend them check them you won’t be disappointed!! Also was able to relax and had a mimosa thank you Jenny you rocked it!!

Mimosa Nail Bar was such a delight today! I got a full manicure and pedicure with a hot stone leg and foot massage along with a shoulder and neck massage while I had my nails done! I highly recommend this place and the family that owns the salon. They pour their hearts into it and they will have you laughing too! 🙏💖😋

I recently had my first appointment at this salon and unfortunately my experience was not what I expected. I booked a Gel-X full set online and noted in the comments that I wanted an ombre effect, since no add-on options appeared during booking. At no point in the booking process did it mention that the technician I selected was newer or unable to do certain designs. When I arrived, I showed the tech a simple black-to-pink ombre photo. She told me she was still practicing and wasn’t comfortable with ombre yet. She offered one- or two-tone color instead, so I said I would rather just do a manicure. She then said she could attempt the ombre, so I assumed she would ask a senior tech for guidance. That didn’t happen. Throughout the appointment I was not asked to confirm the length, the shape, or whether I liked the ombre before she cured or finished anything. I didn’t even realize the set was finished until she said she was done — and there was no black on the tips at all, despite the photo I provided and the reference photo she took. When I expressed that I was unhappy, I was still charged $90 plus $15 for ombre, even though the nails were not ombre. The manager offered to have the same tech redo them, but since the tech had already said she was not confident with ombre, I declined. I believe there is nothing wrong with someone being new or still learning, but clients should be told up front and pricing should reflect the level of experience. If certain designs must be booked through an add-on rather than the notes, that also needs to be clearly stated because my note was overlooked. I ended up going to another salon to have the nails corrected. That technician walked me through the process, checked in with me after the first nail, adjusted the length and shape with my input, and the end result was exactly what I originally expected. This review is simply to share my experience so other clients know to double-check which services a tech can perform and how to properly book add-ons. I hope the salon can improve communication and transparency, because the issues I had could have been avoided with clearer information. Jenny is amazing! I showed her a picture from the internet and she would not rest until she found the exact cat eye color, the perfect chrome the perfect everything. I was nervous because it was my first time here, but Jenny will be the only person doing my nails after today.
