Ten Thousand Waves

I loved 10,000 Waves 8 years ago. It's still a great experience with some caveats. Having visited the private baths we learned that lockers are not available to private bath customers. This makes it quite problematic to enjoy the other amenities at the spa after your bath time is up. To me, you should be able to lock your stuff up and proceed throughout the spa in your robe and sandals. With no locker availability to private bath customers, that means you're either carting your stuff around (shoes, socks, dry clothes, etc) while you try to enjoy the other amenities, or, getting dressed again after your private bath and not enjoying the other amenities. Our bath started 10 minutes late, no big deal - they still offered us the full 90 minutes. The problem was, they failed to communicate that to the cleaning crew, who knocked and entered multiple times during our last 10 minutes. Sort of the opposite of your "Zen, spa time" that you're hoping to enjoy and to pay for. Also, local residents do not get a discount (as you may find advertised around the web and on socials). Local residents can sign up for a loyalty card style program and THE NEXT time you visit, you get the locals discount - but be advised you can't just show up with your NM ID and get it. Hopefully this information about private bath customers not having access to lockers or common locker rooms / bathrooms is helpful as you are choosing what amenities to book at 10,000 Waves! Still a lovely experience, just less spa like than other places I've been and different from my previous visit to 10k.

This was unique experience and it was definitely worth it. I got my wife a massage and grand spa day for her birthday. I ended up taking our newborn to go for a hike while she got some relaxation. She loved it, and the place itself is absolutely stunning. It is quiet, tranquil, and lovely. I was able to check out the grand bath and the location itself. I even enjoyed a nice relaxing footbath while waiting for my wife to finish. The place is something for special occasions, anniversary, birthday, or etc. It is truly worth it and I really look forward to it again. The customer service was top notch and very kind. One thing to note - Connect to the wifi because cell service is pretty spotty here. Just a major thing to let you know about. Ohh and walk up the steps, don't drive. It's pretty and worth it.

I reserved a personal shiatsu massage and dinner reservation here for myself. This was one of the main highlights of my entire trip. Meghan (I think thats how you spell her name) took very special care of me, since I had been struggling with elevation sickness my whole trip. While it may appear pricey, I think its worth every penny. I showed up with just enough time to enjoy a foot soak before the massage. Once you get there, you check in with the front desk, you get a mini tour of the area youll be in, and then they give you clothes and a kimono to change into. If you show up with enough extra time, you get to hang out and use the foot soak and couple of extra amenities on the property while you wait for your massage time. It was lovely, wish I had known about that sooner. Having my massage done and using the foot soak was the best I felt my entire trip. I wish I was able to try more than the cold noodle edemame salad (since I was queasy), though it was still delicious. All in all a very luxurious experience I would recommend to anyone looking to treat yourself. I will definitely be back!

What a beautiful experience! An exceptional location with beautifully appointed rooms. Quiet & Serene. We brought our standard poodle and experienced exceptional service. We didn't partake in the spa but the people that were partaking look like they were having a terrific and wonderful time. I would definitely go back here and spend some time.

We had a wonderful experience renting a private soaking room. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The room itself had two soaking tubs, a cold shower and sauna. The room was very tranquil, quiet and stocked with amenities. Overall it was a lovely and relaxing experience.
