Onyx Nails of Middletown

Best manicure I’ve had in along time. Sheccid did my regular mani. So what would one expect from a good mani. A gentle file down and cuticle clean up, a nice massage and an opportunity to wash your hands before polish is applied. She covered it all and was polite and respectful the entire time. No chit chat while you are being cared for so the salon is peaceful and the girl at the front desk was also very helpful and kind.

This salon does decent work depending on the nail tech. I am writing this review based on customer service. There are two receptionists that are very nice, but there is a third that I had a very unpleasant experience with a couple months ago and I am just now getting around to writing a review, but this experience still bothers me. I had an appointment for a specific time but had to cancel and reschedule for later that day. I made the appointment online as I always do, I come and she told me I did not have an appointment. She asked to see my confirmation which I normally screenshot but of course this time I did not. She said she’d see what she could do for me as if I was a bit of a nuisance. Mind you, the entire time she was very stand off-ish. She found someone to do my nails and as I came to pay with a snarky attitude said to me “how was your experience today even though we had to SQUEEZE you in?” I should not have needed to be SQUEEZED in. I MADE an appointment. I don’t know what happened on their end but I made the appointment. Overall, this receptionist was just very rude and unprofessional. On another note, some nail techs are also very rude and stand off-ish. Some are very nice, but some definitely have an attitude and makes you feel like you’re bothering them. Moral is, the customer service here isn’t great. The work here is decent.

First time customer and did what i asked. Very pleased. Estee was very good. Maybe a little too quick. Gel fill in and done in a half hour.

I’ve gone to Amanda the last 3 times for both dip manicure + pedicure and she is truly PHENOMENAL. The attention to detail is unmatched.. she’s always making sure I’m fully happy with how my nails look throughout the process (shape, color, length) before continuing. You can show her a photo and she matches the color perfectly. She’s just the best!

I had an amazing experience with Cathy today. I’m new to the area so it was my first time at the salon. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Cathy was extremely thorough and made my nail exactly like I wanted them! I’ll definitely be back! THANK YOU Cathy!!
