Nail Chic

I am very sad to be writing this review. I have been going to Nail Chic for over 10 years and have referred them to countless friends and family. I have never had such a terrible experience at any nail salon as I had at my most recent visit. For context, the last two times I went in I asked for a fresh full set as it had been over 6 months since my last, and the acrylic had consistently been separating from my nails for some time. They told me it looked good enough and sent me on my way for a simple fill instead. This most recent visit I asked for black paint and black chrome for Halloween. After badgering me 3 times across 2 different employees to do cat eye despite my clear request for black chrome, they proceeded to only paint one coat of black, making it uneven and see through. This didn’t happen the last time I got black nails there so I was confused. When I asked about it they told me the chrome would make it better but they used a white/silver chrome when I specifically asked for black chrome and had even shown a reference photo. The white chrome turned the nail silver, not close to the look I had requested. Finally, after I insisted for darker chrome, the person doing my nails asked the owner and it turns out they had black chrome this whole time but tried to get me to agree to a look I didn’t want instead of getting it. After the black chrome was put on the first few nails I asked if she could do a second layer of black because it was still patchy and see through. She only put a second layer of black on the nails not yet painted so I had 4 patchy nails and 6 fully black nails (see photo). It looked awful but at that point I just wanted to leave. 2 days later I looked at my nails and was surprised to see half of my thumb nail had been ripped off somehow. Annoyed, I went to get it fixed and get a new chrome color as the black didn’t give the shine I was looking for. they did without any additional cost, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, only 1 of the nails on my left hand retained the new chrome (see photo). Another 2 days later (4 days since the initial appointment) 2 more nails broke doing every day tasks like putting on shoes. Acrylic nails easily last me 3+ weeks so imagine my frustration when I had 3 nails break in 4 days after asking for a fresh set and being denied the last 2 visits. When I went to get them fixed for the second time, I asked again for a new full set, which after a little back and forth, they finally agreed to. When done (we went with a different color and they look great) I was shocked that they wanted me to pay full price - over $80!! - with no acknowledgement of the fact that this was the 3rd time in the salon in 5 days as a result of the same bad set. When I requested a discount they offered 10% off… not even worth the time I spent in the chair. Finally, after I persisted, they offered half off the fill, which still ended up costing me $60+ plus the tip (none of this was her fault so I was happy to tip her). I am shocked and so disappointed to have had such a bad experience for a service I’ve been getting from this same business for over a decade. I am sad to say I will be finding a new salon.

I’ve been coming to Nail Chic for a long time now and I’m never disappointed by the outcome of my nails or the service provided. I’m always well taken care of and walk out with nails I’m completely satisfied with, which are both hard to find ! I live over 20 mins away and always make the drive because this place and people are worth it !!

I’ve been coming to Nail Chic in White Bear Lake for years, and they never disappoint! The entire team is so friendly and welcoming — it’s always such a relaxing experience. Their work is consistently fabulous, and I always leave loving my nails. Sean is amazing and always does a fantastic job. Highly recommend Nail Chic to anyone looking for great service and beautiful results!

I LOVE Nail Chic! The last pic is my latest set from today 12/6/25. Kim absolutely KILLED it as always! And she even got me a gift of some lotion, cuticle oil and a candle! So thoughtful, thank you so much! 🎄🎁❤️

I absolutely love coming here! The staff is fun, loving, and truly caring—they always make you feel welcome and comfortable. My nails always turn out amazing, Thank you Anna ☺️ and the prices are very reasonable. It’s such a great atmosphere, and I always leave happy. Highly recommend!
