Towson Nails

I went to Towson Nail Salon one week ago and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I came in for dip nails, which I’ve been getting for a long time, and I had grown out my nails into a beautiful almond shape. When the technician shaped my first nail, it looked perfect—long and almond just how I like it. But by the time she was done with my hand, all of my nails were short and square. I also picked the same color I always get at my hometown salon, but here they only did two coats of dip and then strangely finished with a gel top coat. I’ve never had anyone do that before, and the result was nails that were bumpy and uneven. To make matters worse, just one week later the gel is chipping everywhere, which has NEVER happened to me with dip before. The only positive part of my visit was my pedicure—the man who did my toes was very sweet, and since I only get regular polish, they turned out fine. Overall though, I left really disappointed, especially since I just moved here and wanted to give this salon a fair try. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Technician Lindsey is amazing! 💖 I always enjoy my time at Towson Nails . The atmosphere is great, the vibes are always good, and the conversations with other clients make it even better. It’s truly a relaxing and enjoyable experience every time! ❤️💅

My first time at Towson Nails was great!! I saw David for custom nail art using reference photos and a drawing. He was happy to edit when something wasn’t right, which I really appreciate. I had already gotten a plain no-polish manicure a few days ago, so we just jumped right to the painting and it was $55 (designs on every nail). I was offered free wine, soda, or water, which was awesome. The white wine was actually tasty! The only reason it’s 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I come to a nail salon for changing my look, but also to relax and get a spa experience. They had the news on the TV, so it was stressful content instead of relaxing nature videos or something like that. There was also confusion when I first walked in and I was taken by a different nail tech who had 2 of those stupid Biden “I did that” stickers that Trump-heads were putting everywhere during our respite from their oligarch. I don’t know if he put them there or a past customer did, but it made me uncomfortable to see something there from far-right people. That guy only does simple nails, so once I clarified that I was there for nail art/designs, they sat me down with David, who is super awesome! Painting my nails with designs and skipping the base manicure stuff like cutting, filing, and cuticles, it still took an hour and a half. One of the nails was tricky, though, and we had to redo it. David mentioned that someone else I who works there named Lindsay does even better work with nail designs. By the way, it was gel polish on my natural nails. So if you want nail art designs, go see David or Lindsay! Thank you, Towson Nails! I’ll definitely be returning for more gel nail art in the future.

I disliked my experience here. The nails are all different lengths, chunky with a bad finish and are as short as my nails began despite getting extensions. I asked for tip extensions with a dip polish, and showed the tech how long I wanted the nails, but she filed them down so far that they ended up the same length as my original nails. I showed a picture of rounded nails, but the tech made them flat on the top, so then she had to take off all the length just to get them to the shape I asked for. The finish has bumps, and the layers are thick and lumpy. This was all after I asked them for an ombre look and they said they couldn't do it, so this was just a basic dip manicure. I'm so frustrated that I had to pay for this. I wasn't relaxed at all and didn't feel pampered. I wouldn't recommend Towson Nails.

While everyone at Towson nails is kind and accommodating, Laxmi is by far my favorite! She always listens to what I want, carries good conversation and is always in a pleasant mood. I get a dip manicure and I can usually go 3 weeks between manicures.
