I am not impressed at all with this salon! ** I am a real person(please see booking confirmation) , who lives in Ames (peep the ISU dorm desk) & this photo is MY nails as a result of this salon! I visited this salon in March (about a month ago) and reviewed today because my natural nail is PEELING OFF as of this morning!!! This is absolutely unacceptable, and I am not "a bot"! I have added another photo of the set, taken in Jeff's Pizza Shop, in Ames, that shows one of the broken nails. 1. NO cleaning was done between the woman who was there before me and when I sat down, the files and tools were all reused & NOT sanitized! I thought about reporting this salon to the board of cosmetology, it is so unacceptable! (my appointment started about an half hour late on top of that, which usually wouldn't bother me, but to be late and not clean is crazy!!) 2. the nails themselves were so thick it took me two hours to soak off after filing with my drill!! on top of that, I attached a photo of what my natural nail looked like after the soak off. There is absolutely NO reason to have rings of fire like that! My natural nail is now so thin I can't do anything with them until they completely grow back out!!! 3. TWO of my nails broke within the week!! Usually a full set of dip will last me at least two weeks. 4. i asked for square shape with rounded edges (squoval) and by the end the shape was closer to the duck nail trend, almost flared as the nail went down 5. the man who did my nails was rude & passive aggressive throughout the entire experience. on top of that, i asked for acrylic and got dip!! I usually do my own nails, but I wanted them to be professionally done for my wedding. I was so disappointed and the only reason I didn't walk out was everywhere else was completely booked!! The set was about $80 after tip. This salon is not cleanly, the workers were very rude, and the nails were horrible quality. I would NOT recommend. I even tipped generously just to be gaslit in response to my review! Absolutely pathetic institution.

I came to get my nails done on March 14 with my sister in law in preparation for her wedding. Despite us having an appointment, they were not ready for us at that time. The lady made my cuticles bleed when she was preparing my nails and tried to pretend she didn’t. I repeatedly requested my acrylics to be thin because that’s how I like them but she simply wouldn’t. When I was finally taking my nails off, I realized they had done the acrylic so INCREDIBLY thick that it took SEVERAL rounds of foil and acetone-soaked cotton balls AND buffing to get it all off — just to be faced with super brittle nails with the ring of fire. Although they’ve healed a bit now, you’re still able to see the remnants of the damage they caused to my nails. Further disheartening is the fact that my sister in law also left a review, and they tried to call her a bot. This poor girl for her WEDDING asked for squoval nails and instead got DUCK NAILS. And even when she tried to speak up, they simply wouldn’t let her. Shameful institution. I will never be returning and highly recommend anyone else who cares about their nails stay far far away.

I went in at 2:30 pm asking if they could accept a walk in for a full set as online showed they had an appointment at 3 pm and I was willing to wait 30 minutes and they said they did not and to come back at 4:30 pm (they close at 5 pm and would have been okay going somewhere else or waiting for a different day.) I came back and waited til it was my turn and everything was fine until we got to the painting part. I asked for a simple white french tip acrylic set and gave 2 reference photos. The guy I had was very rude when painting the french tip on as I was trying to move my fingers out of the way when he was working on my thumb and I had messed up a little of the paint on my pointer finger. He got visibly upset and all I was trying to do was move my fingers out of the way like he had me do my whole appointment. After looking at them when they were done, my nails were not the square shape I asked for nor are they all the same length. I have small nail beds and I do bite my nails, so I know some things are not achievable for my nails which we discussed a little at the beginning, but he could’ve suggested a different length, shape, or a solid color if french tips were not a strong suit or if we did not have time for the others, also, if it was not achievable for my nails. There is also paint all over underneath the tips. Overall, disappointed in the service and it felt rushed. As said before, I would have found somewhere else if they would have told me they didn’t have time for a full set today. My normal nail tech gets pretty booked on weekends and it was a last minute decision to get them done as spring break is around the corner and wanted to have my nails done for it! I have been to this salon once before awhile ago and had a bad experience, thought I would give it another shot and hoped this one would be better. Do not think this set is worth the $69 I paid when online, an acrylic full set said $45 and did not think doing plain white french tips would be an additional $24.

Love this salon and have been going to them for almost 2 years now. Tina is a great owner and Annie is my manicurist. She always takes her time doing a great job. I can't speak to design work as I don't choose to do that, but my acrylics are always precisely how I want them and my colors are beautiful. In more than 20 appointments I only have one nail chip once, and they fixed it for free the next day. Here is a pic of my mani today, and yes I went straight to the gym after because I'm so confident in the quality of Annie's work and I know they won't chip or break. Make sure you communicate your exact thoughts as they work, if any adjustments need made they are happy to do them. and you'll be happy!

I have been coming to Beauty Nails for a while now. I absolutely love Tina, the owner; she is very talented and one of the sweetest people I’ve ever had do my nails. She listens very carefully to what I want and is very detailed in her work. Everyone in the shop is very friendly and goes above and beyond in their work. It’s a very welcoming environment, and I think it’s a great place to get your nails done.
