Full transparency: I come from a lifetime of abuse, trauma and chaos. I have multiple chronic illnesses and live in almost daily physical pain and mental anguish. When I tell you I haven't known peace, softness or kindness like this - maybe ever - please believe it and then some. I don't have enough words to express my gratitude for The Great Escape Spa and their willingness to accommodate both myself and my mom (who have severe, chronic illness and pain) into half of an entire day of relaxation and relief. I scoured all across Indiana, Chicago, and even Michigan to find the perfect place for my mama's birthday surprise gift (and she had a FULL PLATE of dream self-care/spa gifts let me tell you.. including a Headspa, Swedish Massage, deep cleansing Facial, and SOUND BOWLS.. all together. I was definitely panicking internally.) so when I thankfully stumbled across The Great Escape's website I was unbelievably and so happily surprised to see that they just so happened to offer every single thing on her list. EVERY SINGLE THING. In ONE place. I reached out immediately, and was met with the QUICKEST response from any service or company I think I've ever been in contact with. Top tier communication and understanding. Even pulling in, the energy was pulsing with love and peace. The entire environment/land/building holds such a deeply, beautiful and vibrating healing frequency. Unreal in the best way. Brittany was my Headspa miracle worker. It's making me tear up even typing this but she is a literal angel walking this earth. She is gentle but intentional with her touch, soft and supportive with her words, and radiates the kind of peace and healing energy that allowed me to finally feel truly safe after an entire life of harshness, anger, pain and violence. The experience itself was absolutely magical, like laying under a soft waterfall of serenity and quiet calm, and I HIGHLY recommend every and anyone tries it at least once if they can!! I held it together the entire session, but at the very end the tears started flowing uncontrollably and I explained why to her, and she just loved me through it. She did not rush me to stop crying, she did not make me feel like I could not be vulnerable in any way, and so I did and was. And it healed a small part of my soul that I never thought could even have a fraction of light shown on it without shrinking away and withering. She is unbelievably gifted and full of love and light and I am so blessed to have experienced her care. Xanthe was my Lymphatic Drainage Massage Therapist and the Super Hero to my chronic pain. Coming back to my own trauma, undressing is a very uncomfortable and terrifying task for me, but as soon as I walked into the room and she spoke just a few sentences to me I almost melted into a safe mindset and felt instantly at peace, not judged even a tiny bit. She made sure to ask before I even laid down about the severity of my pain (Fibromyalgia, Lupus), the level of pressure I was comfortable with, and made it feel very easy to relax without fear or hyperawareness. She worked more than magic on my body, she released decades of stored trauma and pain and anguish from muscles and knots that I didn't even know existed. I have never had a Lymphatic Drainage Massage before, but all I know is I won't be going to anyone else from here out! The compassion and love that she imbues into her work is extraordinary. One more Earthly Angel walking among us, no doubt about it. The Great Escape Spa was just my saving grace to an increasingly painful and difficult existence, and I truly hope if you've read this far, that you take the time to get there and experience these bright and loving souls for yourself. 💜

Xanthe and Jill made me and my wife so comfortable from the time we got there to the time we left. We did the couples massage. They offered us something from their menu before we left. The beds are nice and warm, peaceful music. It’s always a great time at this place. Always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. 10/10 recommend!

I cannot recommend The Great Escape enough! What a wonderful experience and atmosphere. I had the best massage ever here, from Tara! I was having bad neck pain and limited range of motion in my neck as well. When I left, I felt like a new person. The range of motion in my neck was back! My back and shoulders felt great! My whole body and mind felt renewed! Honestly, The Best!

Was just here the day before yesterday & What A Time!! This place is Magnificent to a T & tremendously serene. Whether its for a visit, a short stay, or a favorite place to frequent- Its Worth It. I came to visit a companion and she recommended this place. I met the owner, a Fantastic woman by the way, and truly felt welcomed, rested and renewed✨ The masseuse Samantha is also a true gem- tell her I sent you! Make this your 1st stop in Michigan City, its no way you'd regret it ❤🎯

I visited The Great Escape Spa today and received my first ever Ashiatsu treatment today. It was amazing and truly therapeutic. If you are curious about it let me encourage you to just do it! Anastasia is the best at her craft, you will not be disappointed!!! 10/10
