Selina Nails & Day Spa

This dip manicure was completed roughly 1.5 weeks ago. The first experience was with Peter who they fired before my next scheduled appointment. Peter did my nails well and I was very happy. My friends chipped and peeled the very next day with a dip manicure. She had surgery the next day so did not bother to go back and ask them to fix. She has been to 4 different nail techs since because they keep firing their employees/the employees keep quitting. I went back the second time bc I had a pleasant experience the first time. I asked the owner Snow if she had neutral chrome powders. She assured numerous times she did. She threw them on the table next to me and they were all dark opaque chromes. I was getting my nails done for a special occasion and wanted a specific look they claimed they could do but could not. I must have told the nail tech Vanessa that I just want a neutral color then. I picked a light tan. Vanessa had to put on about 4-5 layers and kept repeating the polish they use in the salon was bad. She talked almost the entire time which was fine but I asked for an oval/almond shape and they were completely pointy almond. I asked her to fix but she refused to understand the shape I was asking for. They charge for shaping and cuticle in FL (everywhere which is weird considering it’s part of the service). She texted me the next day and I asked if I could come in for a quick reshaping, I didn’t want to ruin for my event if I did myself. She proceeds to tell me that the owners and her coworkers warned her I was a difficult customer, and that it was my fault it took her 3.5 hours to style my very basic, extremely plain dip nails. The pedicures were also not good for the price. The massages which we paid extra for were horrible. Vanessa and Snow’s reactions were completely in appropriate and unprofessional. Honestly, idk why anyone would go here. I would go to a salon that treats their customers kindly, with respect, and with better business acumen. Their products are awful and the staff is rude and unhappy. The management is poor and the turn over is continuous. The salon is really dirty too. They don’t sanitize their tools.

I’ve been going to Salina for 3 or 4 years! In the beginning I would go to anyone! Some were good some were not! Then I was able to get an appointment with Snow! She works miracles if you have a little bit of ingrown toenail. The bad thing is when they’re that good they book up fast! Sometimes I’ll have to see someone else so I’ll ask for Ashley - she’s good too and very sweet! The salon is beautiful and clean! I recommend this salon!!

I was traveling from out of town and wanted to get my nails done. I went here twice during my stay for both a pedicure and no chip manicure. I’m very picky with my nails and was impressed with the job they did. Artwork done was amazing! Even more impressed with how they handled safety precautions during COVID. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

Ashley is amazing with a pedicure and manicure. She listens to you and what you want done. Brenda is great if you want to get a a great liquid gel manicure. She goes with your creativity when it comes to colors .

My first time at Selina’s. My experience was average. My tech had very little to say, not engaging and didn’t bother to offer me water or any other beverage. I brought a neighbor and her tech was very slow, therefore I had a long wait. The strangest part was the receptionist said to my neighbor that she felt badly for me because I had to wait, but couldn’t talk to me because she didn’t know me. What kind of reception is she? They also charge an add on for credit card use. When I questioned the receptionist about the add on , she pointed to a sign that was facing away from me then commented that she guessed I didn’t use my credit card often. I use my credit card almost exclusively and do not find this frequently. I still haven’t found a nail salon I am happy with since moving to The Villages in November. I’m looking to try salon #4.
