⚠️ Unsafe Gel Manicure/Pedicure and Poor Application I went in for a manicure and pedicure on Sunday, November 16th, and unfortunately had a very poor experience. While the technician, Vivian, seemed nice enough and was very quiet, the work was performed incorrectly and did not meet basic professional or safety standards. For context, I regularly do gel and acrylics on myself at home, though I am not licensed, and I occasionally visit salons because I expect a higher level of quality, efficiency, and safety. It is a reasonable expectation that professional services are done neatly and safely. The gel polish was applied extremely thick and uneven, the nail shape was irregular, and the gel was applied and cured onto my skin. I also noticed during the appointment that the curing light being used was flickering and seemed to be malfunctioning. At the time, I assumed it was just a type of lamp I wasn’t familiar with, but in hindsight it may explain why the gel was not properly cured. My sister had her gel manicure done by Talia, and didn't have any issues. I was unhappy with the finished product but my sister and I had been there for 2 hours and I had to run to a different appointment. Before leaving, I asked David if I could schedule another time to come in to have the service fixed (this is before I realized the gel polish was uncured). Within three days, the polish began lifting, and one nail peeled off halfway, revealing wet, uncured gel underneath. Uncured gel can cause allergic reactions, irritation, and contact dermatitis, so this presented a legitimate health concern. When I returned to request removal, the staff seemed unalarmed about the uncured product and safety issue. They removed the manicure at no charge, but I was not offered a refund despite the service failing after 72 hours and the potential health risk. After the manicure removal, I had to head back to work, but this evening, I am going to file the pedicure off myself as the same lamp was used, and I do not feel it is safe to keep the product on my nails. This experience was disappointing and unacceptable for a professional salon. I am considering reporting the incident to the Arizona Barbering & Cosmetology Board so they are aware of potential safety practice issues. I sincerely hope the salon takes this feedback seriously and improves training, equipment maintenance, and quality control. EDIT: Following this review, the owner reached out to me to arrange a refund, which is why I've decided to change my one star review to two stars. When I returned to the salon for the refund (five days post initial appointment, per my availability) the owner stated that uncured gel is not a safety concern, which is incorrect. Uncured or partially cured gel contains reacted acrylate monomers that can absorb through the porous layers of the nail and surrounding skin, and these are well-documented, well-researched sensitizers that can trigger permanent allergies and contact dermititis. This is why proper curing and keeping gel off the skin are basic, foundational safety practices in nail tech. Additionally, this is fundamental knowledge required for nail technicians in Arizona to obtain licensure, including training in product chemistry, adverse reactions, and safety protocols. For that reason, the dismissal and denial of factual basis of my concern during our discussion was deeply unsettling. During this conversation, the owner repeated asked me to "give the nail technician credit" for completeing the rest of the pedicure (shaping nails and cutting cuticles), in attempt to justify only a partial refund. However, I would never have agreed to receive any services at all if I had known a safety risk would occur. The point is not whether a service was completed — the service itself was unsafe, and minimizing legitimate safety concerns was extremely disappointing. The response suggested a lack of understanding of basic curing chemistry and the risks associated with uncured product exposure.

Nail Pro Shop is by far the BEST nail salon I have ever been to! I have been going to see David at Nail Pro Shop for over a year now and I knew after my first appointment that I was never going anywhere else again. David and Talia are the nicest people who never fail to execute the most professional and exquisite work. I’ve gotten acrylic nails at many salons before but my nails have never been healthier than they have been since getting them at Nail Pro Shop. It is clear they are very knowledgeable and educated on the practice and health of your nails, I have even learned a few things on taking care of them. They make your acrylics thin and smooth so they look very natural, I’ve had many people think and ask if they are my natural nails. I get compliments daily on how good my nails look! Every appointment and service is enjoyable, relaxing, and treated with such care. It is clear they care about their customers and take pride in their work. They treat everyone that walks in their door with kindness and respect. I’ve never had a bad experience at Nail Pro shop and always recommend to others! If you’re looking for your new forever salon, this is the place!!

In my line of work, I put my nails through hell — dirt, water, pruning flowers, the whole thing — and somehow Tahlia and David keep them looking perfect. Their designs are insane, and they’ve got me trying new fun stuff every time I sit down. They’re talented, steady, and their work actually survives an active Arizona life. Clean shop, great people, awesome conversations & zero nonsense. If you want nails that last and look damn good doing it, go to Nail Pro Shop!

Amazing! I love my nails. Very quiet, clean and relaxing. There are only 2 technicians so coming on time to your appointment is very important. My 1st time was a walk in but they made sure my walk in appointment did not interfere with any scheduled appointments they had for that day! My nail tech encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone and try something new and I love the color. Very thankful!

The owner & his wife Talia are so sweet ! They actually care & are very personal . I love talking to them ! They both do great nails & are reasonably priced ! The place is super clean too ! I love it here !
