Traveling through Your lovely state of South Dakota and my two day old nail gel started chipping off. I don’t carry a remover so I stopped at TJ nails and ask them to remove the gel and paint my fingernails with regular polish. Seven minutes in the chair and they told me it was $30. Yes, $30 for a nail color change did not even have them use gel just the two dollar nail polish so I guess she charged me $30 for her seven minutes of labor folks. This is not LA and it’s not New York City. And she was the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with wouldn’t even look at my face maybe because she knew she was gonna try to take advantage of me.

I visited this nail salon during a trip to South Dakota, and unfortunately, I felt the price didn’t reflect the quality of the service I received. Before leaving my hometown—14 hours away—I had a pedicure done, but by the time we arrived in Rapid City, one of my toenails needed to be re-polished. I made an appointment for a full set and to have just that one toe repainted. I did have some concerns about hygiene; I was asked to sit in the same chair and place my foot on the same towel that had just been used for another client less than 30 minutes earlier. When it came time to shape my nails, I asked for a pointed almond shape. No one has ever questioned what that meant before, but I assumed it might just be a less common request at this salon. I did my best to guide him, but he told me they were shaped like stiletto nails. What I had asked for looks much closer to almond. (I mention this because I’ve noticed that some nail techs really don’t like to be “argued” with. I wasn’t trying to be combative. I only wanted to be sure I was getting what I asked for and I didn’t ask for stilettos. ) I truly appreciated the time and effort he put into shaping my nails, but unfortunately, none of them came out the same shape, a few are quite crooked, and my fingers are sore. On a positive note, I was very happy with the design itself. If you bring a reference photo, it seems like getting the design you want won’t be a problem. In the end, I paid \$90—which was just \$10 less than the client before me, who had all ten fingers and toes painted. I regret not speaking up about the price, but I don’t plan to return to this salon if I’m ever back in Rapid City.

Absolutely LOVE getting my nails & pedis done here. Both the wife & husband are just simply amazing at what they do. I'm a longhaul truck driver, so my schedule is very fluid, which doesn't allow me to give much notice, sometimes only a couple of hours, that I'll be in town. He always gets me & my daughter in with no hassles. I've had my nails & pedis done here several times now (just moved to Rapid area 12/24) and I am peticular about how my nails look. He picked up on how I like & want them from the 1st visit and has perfected them every single visit! His wife always does my daughters nails and they're just beautiful. Zero complaints! They take their time & pay attention to the small details! I wont go anywhere else.

This place is wonderful! As soon as I walked in they welcomed me and had me pick out my colors. The owners here are so lovely! They even offered me a complimentary beverage! The lady got to my nails right away and helped me figure out what i wanted and which colors would look best. She was very gentle and did an amazing job. Will definitely be coming back here!
