Great Nails

Hands down one of the best nail salons i’ve ever been to. They are very kind and respectful. Every time I go and get my nails done they do a fantastic job it looks exactly like the example picture I show them!! I 100% recommend checking them out.

Lisa did my nails for the holiday and absolutely NAILED it (pun intended) 😉😮‍💨 She is always so friendly - as is the rest of the staff. 10/10 recommend!!

This was my first pedicure in Newark since I recently moved here, and I chose Great Nails because of all the positive reviews. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning. The place looked a bit unkempt, with old, torn chairs, and the pedicure itself was just okay—there wasn’t much effort to make it an enjoyable experience. I also noticed an employee sleeping in a chair nearby, and it seemed like the staff didn’t really enjoy their work. My search for a nice place to get pampered continues, but I remain hopeful that I’ll find a great spot soon.

The experience I had last night at Great Nails was, without question, the worst I have ever had at a nail salon. I went in for a simple balance. The older male technician who worked on me was extremely unprofessional and humiliating. On three separate occasions, he got up from my station, pulled over another employee, pointed at my nails, laughed, and spoke negatively about them — all while I was sitting there and in front of other customers. He exaggerated his reactions, acted as if he was afraid to touch my hands, and moved my fingers around in a mocking manner. A few things I want to be clear about: 1. Everyone starts somewhere — including professionals. 2. I don’t always have the money to get my nails done, which is why I’ve been learning to do them myself. 3. Speaking another language does not mean people cannot understand what’s being said. Many people are multilingual. 4. Publicly humiliating someone is never acceptable. To add, the nail that was replaced during this visit was not perfect either, which made the behavior even more unnecessary. I’m sharing because no one should be made to feel embarrassed or belittled while receiving a service. I left feeling completely humiliated and disrespected. -Shelly
