Fancy Nails

I came here last week while on vacation because I had a feeling that I would be getting engaged while on this trip and I needed my nails done. The ladies that greeted me were very kind but the man did my nails and they turned out terrible. I’m not one to speak up during a service because what do I know? I’m not a nail tech so I just kept telling myself he would fix the uneven shapes and the lumpy acrylic. No. He hurt me a couple of times by jamming his thumbnail between my nail and my skin to separate my skin from the acrylic that was all over my fingers and cuticles. I mean, my cuticles were completely covered in the stuff and unfortunately I didn’t notice that, or the fuzzy hairs stuck to my nails until after my fiancée paid and we walked out. Not to mention, it was like he was hardly even looking at my hands while he was working. I was extremely unhappy with how they turned out and my fiancée convinced me to go back inside to say that I was unhappy so maybe someone would redo them or we could get a refund. He was so rude to me! I was trying to find the right words to explain that they were lumpy, uneven, and pointing straight up from my nails beds and he told me to “chill out” several times. I finally just walked out with no solution, completely devastated. I’ve never had a salon experience like this. Funny how the one star reviews seem to mention him… I should have read those first instead of going off of the good reviews because wow. We went to a different salon a couple days later and they completely saved my nails. I hope he can reflect on this and do better in the future.

Sandy did an amazing job in my daughter's mani/pedi. She did a great job with the designs and details. She was patient and kind to my girl as this was her first time ever getting a mani/pedi with gel polish and designs. 10/10 recommend Fancy Nails and ask for Sandy.

my cousin is a regular here and we came in with her as a group of three (with reservations) for pedicures (all gel) and manicures (with different needs for each of us- one acrylic, one dip, one natural nails- all with gel polish on top) and though they were pretty busy we were completely taken care of in 2 hours! absolutely loved this place and the people who work there!

Gracie is the best on the outer banks! No matter what I throw at her, she gives me the coolest nails every single time. I can always get into the salon, it’s clean and everyone there is incredibly friendly. I recommend fancy nails and Gracie specifically to everyone I meet (and everyone’s always asking me about my nails).

Johnny did a great job on my full and pedicure. I'll definitely come back to see him.
