Ape + Canary

My boyfriend and I had gone here today for the first time for a couples massage. He had gotten massages before at other spas and this was my first professional massage. This spa is AMAZING. Staff are friendly and inviting, and answered any questions we had. The place is clean, comfy and quiet. The lounge area was nice and there is free coffee, tea, alcoholic beverages and water. They also offer water for you during your massage. My masseuse was Colin, and Karisa was the masseuse my boyfriend had. The room was clean, comfortable and not too bright or dark. They will ask what areas of your body need work, and really pay attention to making sure a good massage is done. The beds are comfortable and clean, and they will make it whatever temperature you feel is proper. I definitely enjoyed the warm beds and even the hot towel that they give towards the end of the massage. Both masseuses were great and my boyfriend and I left feeling relaxed and no soreness at all. I had never gone to get a professional massage because of the price and I always felt weird knowing a stranger would be massaging me, but after today I am sold on getting massages now. The masseuses were extremely professional and both had great energy. The locker rooms are also clean, with plenty of lockers and clean robes, towels and some toiletries to use. There is a couple of showers to use and there is also a sauna, which was great for after the massage. The price is a little bit on the higher end, but it is definitely worth it for the quality, service and environment. Especially since they let you stay at the spa as long as you like after your services are done. That was really nice because we were not in a rush to leave. It was nice to just sit there in the quiet room, drinking water and just relaxing for a bit before getting ready to leave. We will definitely be back. As well as suggest this place to anybody looking for a quality spa.

Seriously, this is the best place to get a massage. I have lived in NYC and Connecticut metropolitan areas and there is NOTHING like this. Even the expensive fancy spas in Westport, CT cannot compare. I am not over exaggerating here. I’ve gotten plenty of massages. Yeah, you can just go to any place and get one for $50 if you need and it’ll feel good. But if you REALLY CARE ABOUT YOURSELF or want to gift someone this is the best place. Come clean and respectful and you will be treated the same. Bookings are ALWAYS perfectly timed (they value you as a customer here and you will immediately see it when walking in the door, no joke). I really hope nothing changes except them getting more customers. I will always come back and be a fan. I’ll recommend this to anyone looking for a massage or if my friends/colleagues are visiting in town. PLEASE never stop!! This place and the massage therapists change my life and give me the feeling of a second home.

I booked a massage for today without specifying a particular massage therapist. Scott provided excellent care and was intuitive and checked in regularly to insure the experience was helpful and relaxing. The sanctuary offers a quiet space to unwind and hydrate near the fireplace. I discovered an amazing new tea flavor that I enjoyed after the massage. I highly recommend Ape & Canary for their massages and the comforting environment before and after the service.

A retreat worth speaking about! It was my first time at A&C and from start to finish I felt like an official princess getting pampered. Susan did an amazing facial and I made sure to utilize the extra amenities (rainfall shower with body jets, dry sauna) post service and I left feeling so rejuvenated! Their private sanctuary is like out of a magazine and really allowed me to unwind in amazing comfort and ambiance. I would recommend to anyone!

First impression, classy. Everyone from check-in to service was great. The sanctuary is exactly what I want my living space to look like lol The facial was a 10/10 (Susan), and their nail tech, Iyana, was amazing and personable. The ONLY thing is I wish they were a little more plus-size inclusive. The robes were a one size fits all, but I'm short and round (3-4x), so that was a no go for me. I'd like to be able to enjoy ALL the amenities. If they can get robes that tailor to everyone, this spot would be unmatched. Will definitely be back.
