My partner travels to Lucky Nails & Spa in Ashby-de-la-Zouch from Walsall for her mani-pads and pedis, and overall, it’s become a bit of a ritual she actually looks forward to. The staff there feel genuinely friendly. From the moment you walk in, you’re made to feel at ease, which is a big deal when you’re planning a bit of pampering. They offer a broad colour selection, and the prices are pretty competitive, which makes the whole experience more enjoyable because you’re getting good quality without the sticker shock. My partner has had consistently nice results with both manicures and pedicures, which is exactly what you want when you’re making the trip and making it a regular thing. Of course, no place is perfect. A few times during peak hours it felt a touch rushed, so booking ahead is the best. It’d be nice if they aimed for the same technicians for returning clients to build familiarity; and consider lighting and music for a calm, cohesive colour theme - improvements to push it from great to 5-star for us. All things considered, Lucky Nails & Spa is a solid choice if you’re after reliable, reasonably priced nail care. If you’re in the area and want something you can count on for regular visits, give them a try.

Biab infills and French tip. Nice staff however when filing cut my under nail skin and sliced. Not too painful but hurts. Hands left messy. Ok nails for £28. Wouldn’t go back.

You only come away with good nails if you get the owner or the man who wears a chain. Today I seemed to get a new lad who was very shakey and nervous and due to this caught my skin 4 times with the drill. Thankfully someone took over however she used the thickest coat of BIAB gel so when I put it under the lamp it was excruciating - I am used to the heat spike you usually get which is bearable but I had to pull my already sore fingers (from the previous lads work) out of the lamp. Appointments are never on time so don’t book to come in your lunch break. Pay a bit more and go to Venus Nails - it’s more popular for a reason!!

I love visiting the team at Lucky Nails Spa. They are incredibly polite, always offering a drink and checking in when the appointment is taking place. They are also perfectionist, and I’ve never left without getting exactly what I’ve asked for. I really enjoy the peaceful, quiet environment so that I can take time during my appointment to relax, as it’s my self care time. I’ve been visiting for months and my nails have never broken, chipped, discoloured or had anything to report apart from how well they last. I highly recommend and love visiting.

It is with great disappointment that I amend my previous 5 star review to a 1 star. I have been coming here every 3 weeks for a year now, and the service and quality had depreciated massively in that time. I always book ahead, yet they seem to happily take walk in customers after they have sat me down and then ignore me whilst the serve them. The quality in nails has gone down, with shape and thickness becoming less than expected. Today, I booked in for 2pm and they sat me down and popped my hands into the hot acetone to remove my old nails, they then accepted a walk in customer and left me there with my hands in acetone for 20 minutes whilst they started working on her nails. I took my hands out of the acetone as it makes my skin very dry, to which I was told to put them back into the acetone. I explained why I'd removed them, but I was told to put them back in whilst they still served the other customers first and just ignored me. I have also found that the electronic nail files have been extremely hot during my last few visits, enough to burn me through my nail bed, which I have mentioned to them but just been ignored. I ended up leaving today with my old nails half removed and soaked in acetone. I went to another nail bar just up the road which was cheaper, quicker, better quality and pain free. I'm sad to say that I won't be returning to Lucky Nails again.
