Grand Illusions salon

I went in 3 weeks ago and had a perm. Was put with a less experienced girl but she was not the problem. As I sat and started to explain what I wanted the owner of the business quickly came by, asked if I had chemically treated hair. The girl said yes and the owner told her what perm solution to use, then she quickly left the salon to go somewhere. To get to the point, the perm was too strong. BURNT MY HAIR bad. it is not curly at all. It is frizzy, out of control and looks terrible. I did call them to let them know what happened. I had to wait to hear back from the owner. She did not call me back so I never got to talk to her about it. On a second call, they told me to come in and they would try to fix it.So I let them know I lived out of town and had consulted with my hairdresser concerning the damage to my hair. Since I live nine hundred miles away, I explained to her that I would like to get my money back and be compensated so that I can have my hair repaired. I also offered To let them talk to the salon that I had consulted. I since have not heard anything back from them. I have had three conversations with a girl there but no more responses. No compensation. Before this was done my hair was very healthy and I get perms routinely about every six months so I know that they used harsh chemicals on my hair and I just wanted it fixed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this shop.

***I strongly advise ALL POC to NEVER step foot in this establishment. This salon is an absolute disaster. I specifically called ahead and asked if they had someone experienced with Asian hair, and I was assured they did. That was a complete lie. I was stuck with an amateur who had no idea what they were doing, and the results were so bad I ended up demanding – and receiving – a full refund. The receptionist was equally unprofessional, either untrained, uneducated, or simply racist in how they handled my request. On top of that, the owners clearly have no idea how to resolve problems. They hide behind their employees and force them to deal with upset clients instead of stepping in themselves. They didn’t even have the decency to call me back, and every phone call I made was completely ignored. It’s 2025, and it’s appalling that a business downtown still cannot provide basic cultural competence or respect for POC. If you value your hair, your time, or basic decency, do yourself a favor and stay far away. I strongly advise ALL POC to NEVER step foot in this establishment.

Expensive salon ($115) to completely mess up your hair and leave you hanging. Owner will avoid you and not ever call you to hopefully figure out a solution. Weigh your options before wasting your money here.

I went to grand illusions for a spiral perm it didn't even last 2 weeks well she rinsed my hair she hurt my neck really bad it hurt for 2 days the perm was 125.00 and it was a waste ive had lots of spiral perms and they take no problem she seems like she didn't really want to do the perm in the first place i didn't ask for my money back I wouldn't get it back anyway and I dont plan to go back she couldn't do it right the first time I definitely wouldn't give her a second chance to destroy my hair more

Bree was amazing! Very attentive and professional. Made me feel really comfortable and did a GREAT job on my hair. Had a shampoo, cut & style and will definitely be back for her! THANK YOU!!💕
