*****EDIT***** Bui squeezed me in for a complimentary fix and did a fantastic job, definitely recommend and will book with him from now on. ******************* First time getting a mani pedi so I didn’t really know what to expect. The whole pedicure experience felt rushed and very rough. The tech (edit: Ken) pulled out my cuticles which made me bleed, and popped my toes… not sure if this is normal… he used an extremely hot towel, he didn’t really shape my nails and the polish he applied was on the cuticles and skin, fast, and messy. Also felt like not enough coats, but maybe that was just the sheer colour I chose. Again for the manicure he was very rough with the cuticles and the shape was not like the picture I showed him. He did give me a chance to speak up and was asking if I was okay, but I was nervous in a new environment and decided to trust the process to see how they turned out. He started to do the design I chose but then told me the rest was too small and he couldn’t do it. When he pulled out neon yellow for the centre of a flower I asked him to make it pink instead. The design was ok but not at all like I’d envisioned. My nails were bulky/bumpy. Super thick and the material was stuck to my skin under the nail and flooding the cuticles. There’s a gap in-between some of my natural nails and the acrylic which feels awkward and unsanitary (not sure if that’s even fixable). There was no polish on the ends of the nails which I thought was standard, and my cuticles were bleeding and raw. I should’ve told him it was hurting me but I wanted to trust them/not offend anyone. A couple hours later my boyfriend called to get me back in for a fix and asked for a different tech. It was the same guy. I asked him to please just take them off, but he convinced me to give him a chance to fix them. I asked him to shape them differently because they looked asymmetrical, to make them thinner, and he tried, but they didn’t really look any better. I left feeling unsatisfied even after the fix and disappointed that I’d spent $100 on it. After looking at the reviews, I know I should’ve advocated for myself better, should’ve asked again for a different tech. Next time I will book with Bui directly to get the experience and the design that I want. I’ve attached the photo I showed the tech, plus my own nails before and after the fix.

I’ve been getting my nails done with Bui at Bui808 and honestly, he’s the best. He listens and advices well. My nails always look beautiful and last long without chipping or lifting. Definitely my go-to nail spot!

I’ve been getting my nails done at Bui 808 for years. In the beginning I communicated what I needed consistently and it has been given at every single appointment. I don’t ask for much but I have specific taste and standard, Bui exceeds that standard every single time. I am a lifelong customer to an establishment that respects my requests and makes me feel comfortable. Also, absolutely love the pedicures! Thank you Bui!

This was my first visit and I was very excited to try this place as it was recommended to me by two coworkers. I came during non busy hours and was greeted nicely. The tech who did my pedicure and nails was okay. She greeted me very kindly at the beginning but her mood seemed to change once I indicated I didn’t want a pedicure that would have cost me $95 dollars and asked for the super deluxe which was $60. She no longer smiled and my pedicure seemed rushed as my pedicure was finished before two other women who was already there. Maybe they did get the more expensive pedicure but I felt she just wanted to get my service over with. I had a better experience once she started doing my acrylic nails. I also got half arm wax and felt that was rushed as she dropped a bottle of cotton balls or cloth and did not pick up. Overall it was a 3 star experience for me. I paid around $170 for the three services

This is our second time coming to Bui808 and we have not been disappointed! We had the full service both times. I got Bui’s custom artwork on my fresh new full set, a wonderful pedicure and facial waxing. My husband had a pedicure, manicure and waxing. They even waved his ears! We felt very pampered. Our first visit was wedding nails with our whole wedding party. I had the most beautiful wedding nails ever! We will come back here every trip back to the island!
