Darci and her team at Hanalei Day Spa went above and beyond to take care of our group of 8 women visiting Kauai for my bachelorette weekend. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much Darci truly cares about her business and creating a memorable, personalized experience for every guest. We chose the beachside massages, and they were absolutely incredible—worth every penny. To my knowledge, this is the only spa on the island that offers this unique service, and there’s truly nothing like drifting into relaxation to the sound of the ocean waves. My therapist, Jason, was exceptionally skilled. He took the time to ask about my specific needs, and when I mentioned dealing with migraines, he was able to find and relieve the exact tension point that was triggering it. I left feeling sore at first, but after an hour, I felt renewed and amazed. Thank you, Darci and team, for such a wonderful experience. This was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip!

We booked beachside 80-minute massages for a bachelorette group, and the experience was unforgettable. Getting there, however, was not without its challenges. First, one of the cars in our group had its undercover ripped off by a cement block while pulling out of the driveway. We had to turn back, leave the damaged car at our Airbnb, and swap vehicles before continuing on. Then, along the way, we hit a road closure that caused another delay. At this point, the GPS was telling us we would be about five minutes late, so we decided to call ahead to let the spa know, worried we might lose our spots or be charged a fee. To our surprise and relief, the owner answered with kindness and reassurance. She told us everything would work out and that we would still have a perfect experience. Her warm, calming response completely eased our anxiety when she could have just as easily been strict or unwelcoming. We arrived exactly five minutes late, but the staff immediately accommodated our first group while the rest of us waited in the front office, chatting with the owner. As we talked about our car troubles and mentioned we were planning to buy zip ties to hold the undercover in place, she quietly made a phone call. Just ten minutes later, her husband showed up with a handful of zip ties for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that showed how much they truly care about their guests. When it was finally my turn, I chose the Lomi Lomi massage. I was a little nervous because I wanted light pressure without it being too soft or superficial, and I also have a low tolerance for pain. My masseuse delivered exactly what I hoped for, with the perfect balance of gentle yet effective technique. At one point, I drifted into such a deep state of relaxation that my thoughts faded away into complete stillness. It felt like slipping into a meditative state of pure bliss. The beachside setting made the entire experience even more magical. The sound of the waves replaced the need for any background music, seagulls added to the atmosphere, and occasional breezes off the ocean cooled the air in the most refreshing way. Hanalei Day Spa went above and beyond, offering not just skilled massages but genuine kindness and hospitality. Even though their schedule was fully booked, they made us feel welcomed and never like a burden. After 22 years in business, it is clear why they have built such a strong reputation. If you are looking for something truly special in Kauai, this is the place to go.

Just returned from Hanalei Day Spa and am mind-writing this bc my fingers are too relaxed to type. This was the best massage of my life. I had to double check if my therapist/goddess Ginger had human hands or if they were actually bionic… I received a deep tissue massage with full body exfoliation and coconut hair oil/scalp love - and immediately rebooked for another rejuvenating treatment next week. I had a beach side massage a couple of days ago and highly recommend it. The owner, Darci, is very professional and welcomed me so warmly that I immediately felt comfortable. Ginger, the masseuse, was terrific and found and released knots in places I did not even know I had. The lomi lomi part of the massage adds a special touch. The setting of having the massage in a small hut right near the ocean cannot be beat. The crashing ocean waves, the sweet sound of birds singing and the cooling breze added much to my enjoyment, It was such a wonderful experience that I convinced my son and daughter in law to get one today.

My husband and I got a couples massage on the beach in a private A-frame hut. It was the most relaxing massage we have ever had. Both masseuses listened to each of our individual needs and they were excellent. Their names were Christina and Victor. My husband always needs a deep tissue massage all over and I have various places that need attention from years in nursing. I highly recommend trying the lomi lomi massage. I fell asleep to the sound of the waves. We will definitely be booking again when we have our next trip to Kauai.
