Sanibel Day Spa

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Sanibel Day Spa. Our appointments started right on time, and both of our massage therapists were exceptional. We left feeling relaxed and completely refreshed. Would highly recommend!

I have never been to a spa before, and my grandma was visiting, so we decided to have a day of relaxation. We both did the super soother package, which included aromatherapy massage, facial, mani, and pedi. The time spent on the massage and facial was great. We enjoyed it a lot. I would have given 5 stars, but the mani and pedi were disappointing. The nail polish was goopy (old), and I had been sitting for an hour waiting for it to dry, and i still left with chipped/smudged fingers and toes. No top coat was used either. My grandma did not get her heals filed?buffed. I had pointed it out the nail polish chips when we were paying, and the tech said they "could" of used a different brand. Shouldn't you know when polish is bad, you're the technician.? Also, the tip is automatically added on, so I was not able to adjust the tip accordingly to my disappointment.

We were visiting friends who have a house in Sanibel, and I urgently needed a manicure. Unfortunately, my experience was terrible. I was taken care of by an elderly woman who buffed my nails so aggressively that she cut me badly. We had a flight to Colorado the next day, and I was in so much pain. While I admire her determination to keep working at her age, I don’t think she should be performing manicures. My nails weren’t filed, cleaned, or soaked at all. She removed my gel polish using just a buffer and buffed so hard that all of my cuticles were left bleeding. I get my nails done every two weeks, and I’ve never had this happen before—I don’t have sensitive nails or thin skin. To make matters worse, she attempted to clip a part of my cuticle with unsanitized tools, even after I asked her not to. This was incredibly concerning. The manicure was essentially non-existent, and the lack of basic hygiene is unacceptable. While they gave me a “discount,” the pain I’m in the next day makes it clear that this was beyond unprofessional. I don’t know about the rest of the staff, but this particular technician should not be working on nails—it’s unsafe and could seriously harm someone.
