Lux Nail Bar

My mom and I came here twice. The first experience was good, but we were also the only people they were catering to. When my mom and I went in today, we felt like we were brushed off. They took me, started doing my manicure and cleaning my nails, but stopped several times. Nina said "be right back", I waited 5 minutes the first time. The second time she said "be right back", didn't tell me that there was someone who had an appointment and she took them instead. I waited like an idiot thinking maybe she had to use the bathroom, she didn't tell me where she went. 15 minutes go by and when she comes back she said someone had an appointment and she had to cater to them first in the middle of doing MY manicure. My mom called her out on it, it was very unprofessional of her not to think that I also had a life. That I could just sit and wait like an idiot for my manicure. I felt like I could have just walked out and not look back. No one even went to check on my mom, despite the fact that she had a manicure appointment. We were offered a discount, but good riddance - I won't be going back. There was no effort put in even with the lotion part of the manicure. We were there at 2:00-2:50.

Danny was great! Very friendly and did a lovely job on my pedicure. No pressure to get upgrades. A job well done!

I was super excited to go to Lux nail bar. I’ve been looking for a salon near me & the reviews were all amazing and from the photos I could tell I was able to get what I needed done. I needed a fill, with acrylic and gel polish; pretty simple right ? I walked in and was asked what I needed. I was then sat with a young lady who was kind and began on my nails . Another customer walked in and asked for a pedicure. The women who was doing my nails was then asked to start on the pedicure and put me in another chair to wait for someone else. I waited for 10 minutes, which is fine but when Kan (not sure what his name is) sat down he did not introduce himself or even say hi, or how are you doing. He started working on my nails and didn’t even ask what I needed. I told him what color I wanted while pointing to it . He very rudely told me I was saying the wrong number. My mistake, a mistake that anyone can make. He proceeded to do my nails in an upset matter, like he didn’t want to do my nails at all. He asked what shape I wanted and I told him round like they were. He began to tell me how I’m wrong and my nails are pointy and round is completely different. From that moment on I knew I was in for a ride. He rushed on my nails, did not file them properly and did a horrible job painting them. Paint was not cleaned up and all on my cuticles. He was super rough and rushed through it completely . Being the only Black Woman in the store , I knew I couldn’t complain because I was scared of the thought of being labeled an angry black woman. I just bit the bullet, and went to the register to pay. I was charged $45 for a fill?!? Nothing special was done at all & I came in with all of my nails on. My nails look horrible and I left upset and crying . If you are a Women of color, I do not recommend going to this salon. I will not come here again ever & I will make sure to look for a salon where I’m welcomed and deserves my hard earned money. The green and white tip nails were my precious nails . Way better than what I received here. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Don’t waste your money! The gentleman did not do a good job, just look at pics. The nail polish bubbled and he had to redo hands. No apologies and not friendly. You can see the layers of polish and the bubbles on the second try. And the toes he didn’t even cover all the nails and didn’t do the fronts. Never again!

Lily is the best! She always does the best work. I won't see anybody else.
