DELMAR NAILS

WEIRD AND UNCOMFORTABLE INTERACTION!! I had a 530 appointment. I showed up 15 minutes early and the girl took me back. She asked me for help depositing a check with mobile deposit. I had no problem helping her and did so. She started doing my nails (acrylic Christmas color nails, no designs) and Kimmy (the nail tech) was asking me rather personal questions about my life, which is fine. I understand she was making conversation. I explained to her that I was a single mom and was treating myself to nice nails for a rare birthday weekend away, and added that I was free from kids that night and excited to have time to do this. From then on, it got weird.She then proceeded to take a picture of me and send it to her boyfriend. Her boyfriend, by the way, called her and texted her repeatedly coming up under a name of a celebrity on her phone, which I also thought was odd. She tried to say that the picture was to prove to him that she was at work. I thought that was unacceptable anyway, and then she asked me for a ride home when she got off that night. I immediately felt incredibly uncomfortable and told her no, that I had plans. She said well you just said you don't have your kids tonight. This made me more uncomfortable. I was in such a hurry to get out of there. To top it off, the nails are not even pretty. They are bulbous, misshapen, ( not shaped at all) and are curved and curled down at the ends. I can feel the unevenness and they look terrible. During this experience, my nail tech also disappeared Several times for a length of time. This whole thing seemed very unprofessional to me, and I have gotten my nails done a lot of places and never felt uncomfortable Or even the need to complain about it. I called the next day and talked to the owner, Helen, who assured me they would make it right when I got back from my trip. I made another appointment and came in at 5:30 again. No one seemed to know or be aware of what I was talking about. I explained that I just wanted my nails fixed and they acted like they were confused as to why. Regardless, They said they would fix them and to give them a minute. I sat down and waited for half an hour before leaving. Would not come back here and will be warning others of this totally unprofessional and unacceptable interaction. I don't like leaving bad reviews but this is not cool!

First time there and they are amazing! They take their time and dont rush. I felt not rushed and very welcome there. They took their time to ask questions and to make sure it was what I wanted and made sure I liked them. Will definitely be a regular and will refer them to others!

I came here twice before 3 years ago and I was very impressed with the service I had received. When I came in for a pedicure and full set acrylics I felt very rushed as if I was an inconvenience to my nail tech. He barely spoke to me and looked up at me maybe twice. He told me that getting my nails done would take too long, and kept trying to convince me just to get a refill. I explained to him that I haven't had my nails taken off since May and that it absolutely needed to get done. Instead of soaking my nails after my pedicure, he has my nails soaking in a dish with a towel over it while I'm getting my toes done. It was a big inconvenience for me, as I was not relaxed at all. I also asked for almond shaped nails, like I usually get. I was told that my nails are too short and that I need to go rounder this time. I appreciate your opinion, but that's not what I had asked for. I'm getting married in 8 days and I want to make sure I look and feel my best. I don't know if it's just nail salons, but this is the second one where I was treated with blatant disrespect. On top of that, I was charged 65 DOLLARS for a pedicure! My nails cost less...how is that even possible? I also forgot to mention that my toenails were not shaped. I had to go home and cut them myself! So on top of being disrespected I felt scammed. This salon cares more about making money and conning people then providing utmost customer service. I should have questioned it at the time, especially being quoted $90 over the phone. I also felt pressured to leave a larger tip, and making another person feel that way is unacceptable. Needless to say will not be returning.

I went in today. I was greeted and asked to pick a color for a toe polish change. I waited patiently for approximately 20-25min. Two customers came in shortly after me. They requested two pedicures. Not even 5 minutes later, they were both asked to take a seat at the pedicure chair. I'm not sure what the protocol is but the polite thing would've been to honor that I was next in line or communicate to me that I'm not being looked over. Needless to say, I left. Poor customer service on this day.
