Velvet Files Nails and Skincare

I want this to be as constructive as possible because I know what it’s like to have a business and to have others represent your business. I have a gel allergy, and I looked up nail salons that specifically do hema free or something other than traditional gel so that I don’t have a reaction. I am getting married in a few weeks and I wanted to see if there were any other options for me besides press ons. They showed me 5 nail colors that were hema free. Not really any that I would want for a wedding. The front then asked that I look at gel colors. Again, my fingers will swell and bleed so this is not a great option for me. I asked the technician if I could just do a French manicure since those hema free ones are not colors I would want, she said she couldn’t accommodate that because they were busy. If I reschedule they charge you the fee anyways. I asked about my options and they essentially said regular polish. That’s fine. But to pay $50 for a regular polish manicure, and not the best one I’ve ever gotten, is highly frustrating. I truly was coming here for help and expert opinion, and I feel they saw me as a bother and did not want to help. It is a beautiful salon and I love the atmosphere. I love that they try to do more natural soaks, etc. I just hope that your team is nicer to others than they were to me. I will not be back :(

I’ll never go anywhere else for nails! Beautiful vibe—tons of windows and natural light, exposed brick, plants, tastefully decorated. And Haley is my girl—super talented, professional and warm. 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Velvet Files is the best nail spa! I brought my daughter here as a treat for a girls weekend, and Whitney and Sophia did a phenomenal job and we felt so welcomed. Then entire staff was incredibly sweet and genuine. I highly recommend Velvet Files!

Bailey is awesome!! Had a full set of Gel-X nails done today! She is very professional and did a great job on trimming cuticles, application and AMAZING Nail Art for Christmas 💕🎄 Not only that, she is so kind and gentle. If I could give 10 stars I would!! Very talented! Also, when I was here last month- Kristen did a gel manicure- also great job and kind person! This salon is excellent- Thank you all! ❤️

I’ll start with the positives as the staff was very kind and did discount my service because I wasn’t satisfied. The environment was very pretty and I loved that it didn’t smell like a nail salon. My only complaint was that I wanted my gel x removed and a simple trim and file of my real nails. My nail tech was very sweet and my nails didn’t look terrible, however they were very rough afterwards and felt sharp / jagged. When I went to check out it was $42. I felt like for being a nice higher end salon my nails would not feel/look so rough and unfinished. After the filing, my hands were pretty dusty from all of the gel x and the tech didn’t even wipe my hands or have me wash/rinse them off. She asked if I wanted lotion and I said yes in which case she pumped a squirt onto my (still dusty) hands and said ok you can rub it in now. I understand I didn’t pay for a full manicure but for $42 I feel like this was pretty unacceptable for a professional salon..
