Ojai Valley Inn

This is a resort that work splendidly for groups, large or small, families and anyone just looking to get away to a beautiful place. It really is charming. It’s big, but doesn’t feel that way. Service is professional without being formal or uncomfortable. They must put a lot of effort into staff training, because there was a polish to how everyone treated guests - pride, hospitality and efficiency. Almost over-pampered, but not. Our room was large and in great shape, in the classic section of the hotel - restored, but not stuffy or rundown. Bed was terrific. The views are killer, the food is great, the golf course is challenging but playable and the spa is one of the best my wife and I have been to. You cannot go wrong staying here. Iy’s that good.

Truly incredible getaway. Beds and linens are very comfortable, food is amazing. Pools are all great and views of the mountains from everywhere on property. Great service. Great flexibility to have fancy dinners or casual. Great for families or adults. Food / timing of service could be a little better at the kids pool but only a small thing.

We went for dinner. I wasn't sure if I'd like this place, it seemed a bit high brow when we got there. My misunderstanding ... The staff was amazingly gracious and our dinner at The Oak was well worth the trip! The grounds at the Inn are impeccable, the gardens, serene. Every detail is addressed and the atmosphere is inviting. It was a lot of fun watching all the young families picnic on the upper greens at sunset. Wonderful family vibe! Great experience all around even, if just for dinner.

I’m a professional hotelier and restaurateur, owner of a 5-star resort in Asia, Plantation Bay, a Real Resort with a Real Spa. Like Ojai Valley Inn, our rooms are spread out in separate low-rise structures. If you’ll pardon my chutzpah, the Inn needs to work on its food, leisure facilities, and internal transportation. The food is all California, tolerable for one or two nights, not more. There is a golf course and a spa. In this price range, there should be more activities. The resort layout is a mess, very hard to figure out on foot, and tedious when using their golf carts. Signage is poor, lots of maps but no You Are Here; when you call for transportation, instead of picking you up exactly where you are, the Operator tells you to go to a numbered Golf Cart Stop, which is often hard to find. The attached photos are from my resort, which the Inn perhaps could learn from. Our golf carts have luggage compartments. We have carts for the disabled. We have electronic call buttons for transportation in every building and at strategic intervals. And our map and traffic flow are understandable.

We came here for my husbands birthday and the entire visit was perfection! The grounds are immaculate and clean, the rooms and service are excellent, the amenities and restaurants are a perfect variety. There’s something for everyone and I love how family friendly it is!! My husband especially loved the golf lesson I booked him. We can’t wait to return!
