Elegant Nail Spa

My experience was not good. I’ve never had a painful manicure before. I came to have a relaxing time for myself and that did not happen. There was some miscommunication at first which I get that. Main issue : My nails were trimmed too narrow (which hurt). My cuticles bled at two different times. At this point I should have walked away or ask for someone else to do it but I did not and that’s on me. Filing down my nails hurt, my skin kept getting rubbed into like sandpaper. And the last straw either out of pain or frustration with the tech and myself for not speaking up. When grinding down the acrylic nail my actual nails were ground into. The first few I didn’t realize, it just got really hot and burned but my thumb nail didn’t get so lucky and the grinder got pretty deep down into my actual nail, it hurt really bad I fought back the tears but it was painful. I paid close to 100 dollar for this acrylic/ manicure. After leaving I was just ready to go I realized I didn’t even get the full services I paid for. The lotion massage and hot towels was left out. I was/ am disappointed in the service and myself for not speaking up at the time. It was anything but relaxing and that’s what I really needed that day to treat myself. Edited: 2 weeks later, finally got them removed to see the underlying damage, almost all of my nail beds were drilled into. The bleeding at the sides and cuticles have healed. But you can see from some of the nail folds they were cut too narrow down into the sides of my nail bed The nails have grown a small bit but those areas hurt when cut. The deep drilling into my right thumb nail, has scabbed over but that where the tears came from.

They gave me a finger nail fungus on my middle finger. Did not refund me because of a pre existing toe fungus. I assumed they gave me but that’s ok. It’s a loss. I accept the tie was me. They did give me medicine at no cost to me. That was super nice!!! Next chapter….. this review is for a friend. She is a long time client so she felt she could talk to them about my issue. It backfired. They punished her with an up charge and the ugliest nails she’s ever had there. Usually I compliment how gorgeous her nails look. But she made the mistake of asking about my experience and was punished. With a very expensive backlash. And un ugly paint job. She’s giving them one more chance because she’s loyal. I really hope they don’t fisher like they did me.

Went in around a week ago with my husband. We called that morning and had an appointment at 5pm that afternoon. It was not busy at all. I’m currently in my last weeks of pregnancy and was really looking forward to a nice pedicure for the first time in forever …... I was the first one done on what seemed a very rushed job (I honestly should’ve timed it). Didn’t even realize I was getting the “massage” portion and it was over. It was more of a light pat down. I’m glad I only paid for the $40 pedi for my husband and I because I could not imagine it being worth even that. My husband’s experience was filled with pain and I will leave it at that. Will be looking for better options in Fairbanks in the future. I will say, the place was clean and the smell was not the typical overpowering nail salon smell which was great for my pregnant nose.

This was my first time here. Just traveling for the summer. Place was clean and the staff was friendly. I went in for a gel color change. Cindy was the do name of the staff member that worked on me. I told her what I was used to back home and she did her best to do the moresame. Cost was more than I was used to paying. Now that I know what to expect, I will probably go back.

I rarely give a bad review, but I am going to be honest about my visit, and maybe they will pay attention. For $50 not impressed with the pedi and callous removal. I didn't even have my nails painted and it was very quick. Under toe nails were not cleaned and I had to go home and trim some of my nails or smooth them. I usually pay $45 and get my callous taken care of and all you would think that come with a pedi . There wasn't even other people there waiting.
