Nail Stories of Irondale

So very grateful for this nail salon that has perfectly match my favorite Pinterest idea! Van absolutely perfected my nails and Paul, with the help of another co-worker (I’ll get their name next time) did an amazing job on my toes. This salon is now my top favorite!

My favorite nail tech from another salon moved to GA, and I needed a last minute set for a girls trip. I am a little picky about my nails, so I was very nervous. Nothing goes on in that shop that Van is not on top of and his techs are great. I loved my set and even got a fill in. Going on three weeks with no problems. The pedicure was also top notch.

Van did such an amazing job on my nails! I came in with a picture of what I wanted and she recreated it flawlessly. I’m excited to go back and see what other designs we can come up with. The entire staff was lovely!

My big toe nail looks like it’s waving goodbye to the $150 I spent here. Pretty color. They’re nice but disappointing that she did not remove and redo my toe nail. On top of this not being what I told her to do. I asked for the tips purple on my big toes, I didn’t make a fuss but if someone tells you before you start there should not be any confusion. I’m not a hard person so I said it was fine, color is Beautiful. But not a lot of people are nice as me and for the money we spend to maintenance ourselves we should be able to get what we want. I will be back but in the future I will have to speak up more than once if needed.

I will not be returning. They only care about the style and not the health of your nails. Came in to get a pedicure for a birthday trip and left embarrassed to show my toes. I snapped these pictures after leaving their door. The manager kept telling me that it was the type of polish that I brought in for the French tip, warning me that it will chip. Well the polish chipping was not my concern. It barely chipped upon returning for my next visit. The tech that worked with me that day did a great job the very first time I came in, so I requested him again, older guy, and my experience was 0 out of 10. He was picking up, slinging, and throwing my feet down. I was about to walk out but I had no time to go else where to get my toes done and I was leaving out of town soon. I left that day with unprofessional, lazy service and it reflected on my toes. That was the first time I’ve left a nail salon feeling completely unconfident, with ashy feet. I spoke to the manager about the service, he blamed it on the type of polish, lacked accountability at the end of the day. I decided to go back and give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe dude was having a bad day or French tip was not his forte. I walked in and said that I wanted a gel pedi/mani. A guy came to me and suggested that I go with acrylic b|c I had acrylic already on my toes and it would be tough for gel polish to stay on if I previously had acrylics done(I only got acrylic for the French tip technique), but the interaction was not genuine, it seemed as if he was fishing me to pay more. Next the manager came over and again mentioned that the next time I want French tip with a similar color use their polish (I brought my own polish last time b|c I wanted the gold to match my toes), but I’m letting you guys know, the chipping was not the issue. I ended up getting the same tech and he was more gentle with the same nasty attitude. I ended up getting all white gel. I guess he had something to prove because they look good. I moved on to the manicure and the manager sat me at his table and started peeling the acrylics off of my nails!! I was pissed. He said I did not think it matter because the other two nails are short (two nails had already came off. Middle finger on left and index on right) If you guys would have seen my nails before he filed them yall would be upset for me. I responded saying that they could have been soaking while I was getting my pedicure. Then proceeded to say soaking would have took too long, 20 to 30 minutes. Y’all…… is that not apart of their job?? I was sitting up in there pissed. He then asked for a heat bowl and soaked the remaining nails off. I did not want any more of their services that day and I do not want it in the future. I have an active lifestyle and require professional maintenance, patience, and consistency. They’re not giving that. They charged me $80 for the first visit mentioned & $70 for the most recent.
