Hair Therapy Spa

This place is amazing!! Every time I go here I feel welcomed from the moment I walk in the door. I’ve been going to stylist Shania for about 2 years and this girl knows her stuff! She always brings my vision to life, while also making sure to keep my hair safe, healthy, and gorgeous!!!! The other ladies are always so sweet and energetic, making the atmosphere a wonderful place to be. If you’re looking for a home salon I definitely recommend Hair Therapy!!! 10/10!!!

I’m not one to write reviews, but felt my experience should be known. First off, I’d like to state that the salon is clean, filled with many seemingly friendly and accommodating hair stylists that do a great job at what they do. However, as a woman who spends anywhere from $200-$500 a month on her hair at salons, there are certain expectations that I hold to be true of a reputable and high-quality stylist. For example, when you’re spending anywhere from 8 to 15 hours a month with a person who is in control of a certain aspect of your appearance, it’s important to have a relationship in which one feels comfortable expressing their wants and dislikes without judgment. Nobody is perfect, and there’s a learning curve to learning each individual and what they like, especially given the tolls that Tennessee’s humidity plays on hair. But when one expresses disappointment or a preference, that client should NOT be made to feel as if they are wrong or a nag for expressing what it is that they like. I’ve been getting my hair done for over 30 years. The hairstylist I’ve had in the past, I’ve had for over 10 years, in which the hairstylist became a near and dear friend. I recently moved to Tennessee and was hoping for a similar experience. Unfortunately, that is not what I got here. During one of my visits, I was met with 2 young girls that worked there staring at me, while whispering to one another. This went on for at least 10 mins, which I found petty and very immature. As one can imagine, this made for an uncomfortable experience. I brought it up with my hairstylist, who assured me it would be addressed. That being said, I was 10-15 mins late to an appointment one day and didn’t think much of it since my hairstylist often had me wait at least that long previously, never offering me a warning or apology, but when it was me running late… I was met with reprimand and a brush off when I apologized and added that I didn’t realize it would be an issue since she often had me wait. Making every effort to be punctual to the minute thereafter, to the point of skipping my lunch, said hairstylist was late 10 mins to a subsequent appointment and failed to offer any sort of heads-up or apology and instead attempted to try to make me feel guilty by repeatedly stating how she had to “scarf her lunch down.” But for the straw that broke the camel’s back… After highlighting my hair (in which I expressed great gratitude for), I noticed some uneven tone in the front, on my bangs. My hairstylist applied toner to fix, but applied to the majority of my hair, instead of the one small area. Perhaps her approach was correct, maybe it wasn’t. I wish she would have gone over her plan with me before execution. While she is the “expert” hairstylist, I am the paying customer. When I reached out to the hairstylist about my disappointment in my overall tone being much darker and not really seeing the highlights I just had done 2 weeks prior, and asked if the toner would fade, instead of her informing me one way or another or offering some sort of assurance, I was met with a quite lengthy text about how she is not the hairstylist for me. So, for those of you that are looking for more than the quick haircut, and are looking forward to getting your hair done as a pampering experience, having a somewhat friendly relationship with your hairdresser where you can be honest and open about what you want and don’t want, and expect to be treated with hospitality and grace, perhaps make sure that the hairstylist you choose at this salon is (as was so callously suggested to me by my hairstylist) right for you.

Megan was AWESOME! She is very knowledgeable, sweet and friendly. I finally found a stylist that I will continue to go to I just hope she is there to stay. It is so hard to find someone who is like her.

I have been coming here for 3 years now and the level of professionalism , talent, and friendliness is unmatched! Shania is EXCEPTIONAL and has treated me like a queen! My hair is the healthiest it has ever been! I love my weekly hair washing, the manicures, the hair colors, Brazilian blowouts, all the things! I have never been disappointed! I trust her judgement and just let her do whatever she thinks would be best! Nikki"s scalp facials are such an amazing experience that I can't even describe with words! She has also washed and blown out my hair a few times too and what an awesome experience, that lady has magic hands! I love my girls at hair therapy and look forward all week long to my weekly appointment! I get beautiful hair but more importantly I just have the best time while I'm there!

Nikki has been one of the best people in my life that I trust with my hair. When I moved to this state, I was really nervous about finding a new person to do my hair and had gone to quite a few hair stylists , I always had to redo whatever was done & fly back to the state I moved from to have my former stylist fix it! FINALLY, my daughter is the one who found Nikki online & wanted me to go with her. she absolutely loved what she did with her hair. Nikki is just fabulous with kids, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. My daughter is just as picky as I am and, well, I’ll just leave that part as is because if it wasn’t for Nikki’s kindness and professionalism and on trend cut at my daughters appointment, I never would’ve booked one for myself. So, it’s been a couple years & I’ve actually quit going to one salon when she moved to Hair Therapy to follow her and I love that I made that choice. She is the HAIR GURU!! My hair is super challenging to color and I do admit that I’m picky about my cuts & styles as well, and Nikki just rises to the challenge and educates me on the latest dynamics of hair care & color. I love this because I’m in the medical field and travel quite a bit and do not have time to find hair therapists in every state I may be in when my hair needs attending to. I truly value Nikki’s expertise & experience with my type of hair & the end results ALWAYS look stylish, on trend & well, fabulous! Compliments flow in whatever state I’m in and it’s all because of Nikki. Sharing a few colors and cuts of my faves.
