Zero to Hero! Cure for baldness? I grew up going to military barbers on base and always had a buzzed head, so I had no idea what my hair even looked like. Turns out the $8.00 haircuts I was getting at the base aren't the best in the world. My barbers were actually cutting bald spots into the back of my head by not following the shape of it correctly. My wife took pity on me and introduced me to Mitchell and Juan and it changed the game completely. I have more hair now in my 30s than I did at 20, just by going to these experts instead. I don't know what voodoo magic they have in their fingers, but whatever it is, I always leave there looking far better than I ever did coming in. Also, get your hair care products from them. There is no point in getting an amazing haircut or styling if you don’t use the right products after getting it. Believe me, I tried for months to replicate how I looked leaving 401 on my own before a light bulb finally clicked and I realized it was the Walmart brand products I was using, letting me down. Save yourself the headache and use what they recommend.

Even when faced with an extremely disrespectful individual who was violating posted parking restrictions and later called the salon with inappropriate behavior, both Mitchell and Juan maintained the utmost professionalism and grace. It's unfortunate that small business owners like these have to deal with such unnecessary stress while trying to provide exceptional service to their clients. Despite these external challenges, my experience was flawless, and the level of care and attention I received was outstanding. Salon 401 deserves your business and your respect. Mitchell and Juan are true professionals who go above and beyond for their clients, even in difficult circumstances. Michell Headden did a very good job doing my hair and makeup for my nephew’s wedding here in Walterboro. I can’t thank him enough for making me so beautiful. His salon is so nice and clean . Everyone there is so friendly that makes you feel at home. I’m from California so to be treated so nice and warm is a treat. I love love this place. I highly recommend them. I give them 10 stars 💕

I have used this salon for over 20 years. The services there are wonderful. The staff is so friendly, caring and makes you feel special. They are updated on the current styles and for both men and women concerning cuts, colors. When I leave the salon, the owner Mitchell Headden , Juan and Joyce , I leave very satisfied and also get compliments on who styled my hair. I Always recommend this salon to anyone who ask me.

Mitchell and his team hosted my mom, sisters, daughter and nieces for a pre-wedding getting ready morning. He was extremely flexible but organized about making sure we were all seen in plenty of time to get to the wedding. They created a fun atmosphere and had donuts and drinks waiting for us. And the team was fun and festive the entire time. Thank you so much!
