Zen Nail Spa - Downtown Chatt

I get my nails done with Jay, and he does a fantastic job! If you're looking for intricate and complicated designs, I would highly reccomend booking with him. Everyone is very kind and it has a very welcoming atmosphere.

This place was the perfect spot. Everything I imagine a spa time to be and so much more. Beautiful quiet and peaceful located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. They offer refreshments and luxury at a price that is affordable. Ryan was my nail tech and it’s almost like he knew me and was able to give me exactly what I wanted. I travel from Dalton ga this will be my new location because every where else just doesn’t compare. For zen I will travel for a quality experience. I pray they don’t go up on prices but other than that! Well done zen WELL DONE

The atmosphere was nice. It is a nice place, however, with all the joking around between nail techs and very little interaction with me, bc I'm only going to speak for myself, it was very distracting and what could have been a relaxing time wasn't. When I went outside I noticed a bump in my nail and instead of my nails looking smooth they looked kinda lumpy but after sitting there for almost two hours I didn't even want to go back in so i left.

First time visiting this salon and it is the most beautiful and quality salon I've ever been to. I got a builder gel fill in from Kathy and she did a fabulous job. I also got cateye polish and it looks beautiful. This is going to be my regular salon going forward.

When I arrived some of the workers were rude to my sister and I. The receptionist was very nice though. One worker caught an attire with my sister because the way she described what she wanted wasn’t to their understanding. The lady caught an attitude telling her she was describing it wrong. To me that’s not a reason to get smart with someone if you knew what she meant to say then politely tell her the correct style and move on. Myself on the other hand wanted a pedicure and full set. The guy who did my toes was very rude. He asked what color I wanted and I told him white, mind you every where else I ever want before this never had a problem with me choosing white and always made it look good. So he paused in the middle of painting my toes and said “ I don’t think you should get white” and I asked why not? He just huffed and said “the way your toes are white isn’t good, you should choose another color.” I refused and he got upset because I still wanted white. Like sir are these your toes or mine!? I just told him not to finish with the pedicure and let me up. So I move on to the guy who’s going to do my nail. I always get acrylic never had anything else. He talked me into trying out Gel-X which he said is better than acrylic. He said that it would last longer and the shaping would look more natural than acrylic. He even showed me pictures of his work with them. His girlfriend was sitting next to him and he had did hers with the Gel-X. After he finished them they were cute just how he said. A few days later my nail beds started to become sore. I eventually took them off because this wasn’t normal for my nail beds to be sore to the touch. After removing the nails my nail beds were yellow, all 10. I gave it a few days hoping it would clear and it just started to spread covering my entire nail bed. My nails were very sore even to the touch. I go to the ER and they told me that my nails have been infected & I have fungus underneath my nail bed. I get my nails done regularly and over never had this happen before. This was my first time trying Zen Nails and it was the worst experience.
