Shes an expert in Russian manicures, and I absolutely love the precision and care she puts into every step. I went to Glowly for nail extensions last week. I just moved back to nyc and I was excited and hopeful to get exactly what I wanted and was prepared with inspo pics. Russian manicures are more expensive but typically worth it because of the level of quality and detail so I was prepared to spend more for a better experience. What I wanted was a natural, elongated shape (not almond but oval, and a natural finish… pics included here of my inspo vs what I received). Instead, she did short almond nails with a dense pink base and a white top coat. As you can see from the inspo vs what I got, this is nothing even close to what I asked for. I was vocal about my concerns throughout the process and she kept reassuring me that she wasn’t done. When she formed the base with pink I said “this is too pink I think” and she said “I’m not done”. She then decided the length without asking me and I said they were shorter than what I asked for and the shape is wrong, and she again said “I’m not done”. When she was wrapping up and taking her pics, I was surprised because the underside of my nail was still so thick so I asked her to file it down. But she didn’t file it down nearly enough (One of the many things I fixed myself when I got home). By the end of the service, I muster up the courage to tell her that the end result was beautiful technically, but that it’s not what I wanted at all, and I asked her if she realized that this was the complete opposite of what I asked for. She said she sees how it could be the opposite of what I asked for but that it was too late and we could do it the way I wanted next time. By that point, I was exhausted by speaking up and I felt like I wasn’t being heard so I just paid and left while she was working. My cuticles were practically raw which I powered through because I know it’s a Russian manicure and it can be intense on your cuticles. However, by that evening, my fingers were so raw that I had to put Band-Aids on, and I had to keep the Band-Aids on for a few days. I reached out to the salon to explain my frustration and to explain my experience and show them pictures of what I asked for versus what I got. That turned into a weeklong back-and-forth with their team and they tried to brush me off and say I should’ve said something when I was there. I explained that I did say multiple things while I was there and that nothing was done about those things. As someone who has been in hospitality and customer service for 15+ years, I was so put off by the assumption that I was just trying to get a few extra dollars back or make claims that weren’t true so that I could get something for free. I provided them the same pictures that I’m attaching here and explained everything in detail and they basically said that I signed something which required me to say something while I was there. However, I did say something while I was there so??? Not sure what kind of operation they’re running here if they can’t invite someone back for a new set, but I wouldn’t go here unless your super familiar with your technician and unless you have 6 hours to spare in case they screw up for the first set so you can stay for another 3 and get it figured out. I asked them to let me come back and get a new set with a new technician and if they couldn’t do that, then I wanted my money back. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable ask considering the experience that I’ve explained here. They ended up offering me $70 off my next visit. I declined the offer obviously and I won’t be returning. I wanted to resolve this with them without posting here but they obviously didn’t have much interest in recovering my experience so I figured it’s necessary to share. Not really sure what could be worse than not getting anything even close to what you wanted, vocalizing it there in person and being ignored, then having to wear Band-Aids for three days because of the cuticle work. I’m literally embarrassed to have the nails that I have right now.

I had such a wonderful experience at Glowly Nail Salon! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and relaxing — the perfect place for a little self-care. The nail tech did an absolutely amazing job on my nails 👏💅. They were so attentive to detail, took their time to make sure everything was perfect, and made sure I was happy with the color and shape before finishing. I left feeling pampered and confident with beautiful nails that look even better than I expected!

I love Glowly and have been coming here for years. Always reliable, perfect Russian manicures that last weeks and have made my nails longer and stronger. Highly recommend!
