Spa, Salon, and Barber at River Valley Club

Great experience at RVC spa! I have had 2 incredible massages here and also a facial. They use great products that do not break out my sensitive skin. The locker room with hot tub and sauna are an added bonus!

RVC Salon is hands down the best hair salon in the UV. Nicole does a fantastic job with my highlights every time. Whether you’re looking for a quick trim or a full highlight, this is your sign to go to RVC salon!

Just OK massage. Massage therapist talkative about herself (she’s very nice). Not relaxing or therapeutic. Ruined experience. Waste of time and money. Very unprofessional. Spa personnel absent upon checkout. Very disappointing experience. Will not return.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at the RVC spa. I paid $250 for a cut and balayage with their Master Stylist, provided clear reference photos of exactly what I wanted, and explained my expectations in detail. The result was nothing like what I asked for. My haircut is uneven, the shape is wrong, it is much shorter than I requested, and the color is incorrect. To fix this I now have to go to another salon, cut even more off which I specifically said I did not want, and pay to correct the color. I even sent photos of what I asked for and what I received yet I was only offered an in-house credit to return to the same stylist who caused the problem. A refund for at least the haircut portion would have been reasonable. This was not only a poor service outcome but also poor customer service in handling the situation. For a facility that promotes itself as high end this experience was far from it. I would love to change this review to a positive one if RVC provides good customer service and resolves the issue appropriately. Edit: I received an email from Elizabeth Asch, owner and CEO of the River Valley Club, claiming the stylist told me “that she would not be able to apply as much product as necessary to achieve the result you (I) asked for out of concern for your hairs’ health”. This is completely untrue. The stylist only said after the fact, ‘I know it’s not the color you want,’ which feels like a cover-up. They’re offering a credit to return, but I still have no desire to go back. The service and customer service were terrible, and I advise everyone to avoid this salon.

The luxury spa experience promoted on the website did NOT translate in person for me. There were parts of the pedicure that gave me cause for concern. I would not have guessed this girl was a licensed nail tech. Booked a delux manicure & pedicure last minute over the phone. Decided to spontaneously treat myself to a spa experience instead of the standard nail salon atmosphere, and was so glad there was an open appointment time. I was not notified the nail technician wasn't in that day. The barber was filling in... She was a nice girl (of the staff I've conversed with since she is actually the nicest), but obviously NOT in her element. When I asked her if she did pedicures often, she noted that she "maybe did one a week when they needed the coverage." I've got multiple ingrown toenails since this appointment, and I known it is because of the poor technique this girl used. She spent time pushing the corners of my toenails into my toe. I had to ask her to stop because it was so uncomfortable the way she was doing it. And now I'm wishing I had said something earlier because these ingrown toenails are very irritating.
