Gloss Nail Bar and Spa

I usually do my nails myself but I decided to stop in after a particularly hard day. This place was very clean and pretty upon entering. I did think it was a bit expensive for the manicure I received- $20 for a basic manicure, which (in my opinion) is a tad too much for what you get- it was a rushed experience unfortunately. My nails were already long and shaped- the tech used a very coarse file on my nails so they all ended up being very jagged, and I had to spend some time smoothing out the edges when I got home. They were catching on all my clothes. The polish application was very precise, which is important, but the topcoat did not do much in terms of protection; I have several nails with small chips on the edges already (due to the roughness that was catching on everything). Again, the place was very clean, I just don’t think I would rush back to do another manicure.

I want to start by saying I think my nails look nice. The space was clean and welcoming. I went there to remove my powder dip nails and get a full set of acrylic since they told me they don’t do dip on long nails. I knew I was gong to pay extra for the removal process. I was there almost 2.5 hrs. The nail tech got irritated on more than one occasion talking shit about me with her co worker (they think we can’t understand them but google translate does) I am not a picky person but I do expect to get what I pay for. I’m not going to walk out acting happy with something I am not so I do speak up. I was never rude about anything. The back talk and tossing tools around when I pointed out something or asked for a nail to be filed down was very childish behavior. Thankfully the tech used a clean file on me because she did cut me and made me bleed. I do not like the fact that I got no cuticle care at all. No oil on them after, and no cleaning of the polish that was on my fingers after they were painted. I say all that to say this, I was happy with everything overall and I wouldn’t even be making this review if I wasn’t charged $25 for gel polish on my nails. I am almost 50 yrs old and I have gotten my nails done for 20+ yrs and I’ve never ever been charged for the polish. To charge $25 for tips of white on my nail (see pic below. That’s not $25 worth of polish) is outrageous and to not even do a second coat is even crazier. I’m not one to write reviews and I even slept on it before doing so. I had no issue paying $80 for the set. I know they are long and I know it takes time. I also had no issue with paying to remove old work. I draw the line at paying for the polish. Who does that? Typically I would have left a $25-30 tip because of the work that went into it but I didn’t. I left $10 and honestly that was only because of the time I spent there.

First time here and great experience! One of my favorite acrylics yet, very fast and good price. Will definitely be returning. Very calm, relaxing environment. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

The best gel manicure I’ve ever had! My nails have lasted 3 weeks now and still strong. Not one chip yet. Also love the close details Mylinh pays attention to, especially on my cuticles and shape. Will definitely be back regularly!
