Nails On 5th

This is my favorite nail salon. Lily is very fast and efficient and the nails are wonderful! The whole experience is always wonderful. I would definitely recommend!

I was overall unimpressed with the service I received. From the start, the salon felt disorganized. The color polishes were scattered on a tabletop instead of being displayed in a book like most salons do, making it difficult for me to choose a shade. Lily was initially friendly and eager to do my nails, but as the manicure went on, her attitude shifted. She seemed to get frustrated and even made comments that felt insulting, though I wasn’t sure why. The nail prep felt rushed and incomplete—she didn’t clean my nails properly or wipe away any dust from filing. She didn’t clean the cuticle off my nail plate either. I got the manicure less than a week ago as I am writing this review and some of my nails are already starting to lift on the side walls. When she was doing my nails, I noticed she was applying the acrylic very flat, so I requested a more rounded apex. She assured me it would be fixed at the end, but she never actually added enough acrylic to create the look I wanted. Instead, she blamed my “flat nail beds,” and my nail beds aren’t even flat. But, even if they were, a skilled technician could build the shape with acrylic powder Her filing technique was aggressive and rushed, and she even cut me on one of my fingers. The nail art was also disappointing. I requested a simple French tip, but she didn’t let me choose a base color and instead used a clear gel over the clear acrylic that I wouldn’t have picked. The French tip itself was thick, uneven, and applied with the brush from the bottle, making it look bulky and unpolished. That being said, the manicure wasn’t extremely expensive, which I suppose is a good thing since the service wasn’t great. This salon might be a decent option if you’re just looking for a super simple gel polish manicure with no extensions or nail art, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything more detailed.

This was my first time trying Nails on 5th and I will definitely be coming back! Lilly took her time making sure the shape of my nails matched & that my gel was even. That type of service unfortunately isn't common in other nail salons in the area. Very fairly priced as well!

I hate to leave a bad review because everyone was so kind but I am really upset with how my nails look unfortunately. I picked out a solid white pink color and walked out with jelly nails, not at all what I expected but she said her dip process was “different” and made them have a “jelly” look. Process really just was super quick so if you need a dip manicure in a pinch this could be the place for you but I will unfortunately not be returning.

Lilly is amazing!! I went here to get my nails done for my engagement, and they were perfect. It was 3 weeks after she did them when he popped the question and they still looked amazing. She really took her time, was transparent about pricing, and talked to me the whole time. Can’t say enough good things. Will definitely be coming back here any time I want to get my nails done!!
