Terrible experience from start to finish. When I arrived, the technician immediately started my pedicure and began cutting my nails without asking me at all. During my manicure, she aggressively removed the gel with the machine, which was painful and rushed. The gel manicure took less than 25 minutes, she didn't remove my cuticles, and she tried to file all my nails the same size but completely failed - the shape and length are uneven. She was clearly in a rush and did not care about quality or comfort. After paying, I spoke to the front desk employee named Jamie to explain what happened. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. She told me the manager would call me to refund my money. It has now been over a week, and I have received no call and no refund. I called back two more times, and Jamie was still dismissive, saying "you have to wait" with no solution or accountability. Poor service, poor quality, and horrible customer treatment. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone.

Once I found Max, I never tuned back. I’ve been getting pedicures from him for at least 1 1/2 to 2 years now. I swear I wrote a review before but I guess not. Early Sept, I was feeling sassy and decided to get a manicure as well. Due to my work, he recommended I get builder gel because it’s long lasting and will keep my nails sturdy. I absolutely LOVED it ! He topped it off with a red shade, Rebel With A Clause. Not only did it not chip, the color lasted and was vibrant for 3 weeks. I honestly would have kept it longer but my nails grew out significantly. Today, I went in for a refill. Initially, I was going to get a deep burgundy color for the fall but that natural builder gel color was everything. I am literally OBSESSED. I didn’t catch the name of the shade but my nails look so friggin’ good ! The shape, the thickness, the evenness, the color. I’m sure the other techs are lovely but Max kills it every single time. It doesn’t matter how long it’s been, where I am and how much I need to update my pedi, & now mani, I simply cannot bring myself to go to anyone else. I’m lowkey annoyed that I practically have a new bill bc how can I stay away. Btw, the pictures I’m attaching do not do Max’s talent justice.

I’ve been to DLuxe a few times and have always had very positive experiences until today. I showed up to my Wednesday 11:30am appointment on time, but had to wait until 11:50 to be seen. The salon was not very busy at this time, but I figured they were just running behind. When I was brought to a station, I showed my nail tech a photo of what I wanted (shiny aura nails, I’ll attach the inspo image) immediately. She nodded and said okay. I asked if she was able to do that and she said yes. If she had told me that she was not confident she could achieve that design, I would have happily picked a different one. Unfortunately my nail tech didn’t tell me she wasn’t able to execute my design. Several times throughout my appointment, she started, stopped, and then would get up and leave (I’m guessing to consult her coworkers on how to achieve the look I wanted). She never voiced to me directly that she was unsure how to approach the design. It made things very awkward and I felt out of the loop. Eventually, she just got one of her coworkers to take over. While her coworker did get closer to what I wanted than my original tech, it still didn’t come out how I had hoped. The quality of my nails from this visit is also very poor in comparison to past visits. My cuticles are messy, the polish is thick, there are large gaps between my polish and nail bed (larger than what’s normal to avoid cuticle flooding), and the finish is smudged/grainy. I was there for a gel fill (listed as $55 on their website) but ended up paying $60, plus $40 for a design, making my total $100. I did not expect to pay nearly that much for a fill and (what I thought was) a simple design. I’m almost always happy to pay my nail techs whatever they charge for their services because I respect the difficult and skilled work that they do. In this case, however, I feel like I was taken advantage of. The design wasn’t really what I asked for, the quality was bad, the communication was lacking, and it took almost 2 full hours (arrived at 11:30, left at 1:20). The budgeted time on the booking form for this service was 55 minutes. I was really late to my classes and it ruined my day. If even one of these things hadn’t happened I still could have left happy. For example, if they couldn’t get my exact design but it was done really well, or if my nails didn’t look great so they charged me less, or if it had just taken less time. I’m really disappointed in my experience at DLuxe today and I’m not sure I’ll ever go back :(

I don't usually write reviews for places, but I had such a bad experience at DLux Nail Bar, I felt I had to share. I am new to the Boston area, and I was looking for a nail place that does builder gel. I show up to my appointment, and a lady takes me to the back room to do my nails. I showed her the my inspo picture on Pinterest (it is just a solid color) and she says she can match it and comes back with 2 different shades of blue, both of which don't match. I told her I think the color is wrong, but she tells me it'll be okay so I trust her. The nail prep was very rushed, and some of my old color from my previous set was left on my nail. She then starts to paint my nail, and I tell her again that the color is wrong, but she is still dismissive. As the customer, I feel it is my right to voice my concern, but she was not willing to listen. I am very unsatisfied with my nails, and I will not be returning. They have a very limited selection of gel colors (even though they will try to tell you otherwise). The first picture is the inspo, the second is what I ended up with. Overall, unprofessional, unhygenic salon.

I have tried a few nail places around south Boston but nowhere I felt like returning to. this place changed that! absolutely loved it and will be returning! Vivian was quick, attentive and communicative. she checked in often and made sure I left loving my nails. PSA the prices are a bit more than advertised on the website/ when booking online, but I would say it was still well worth it! for a refill with designs i was charged 80 before tip. can’t wait to go back!
