TK Nails in Ankeny

My mom and I went in for a classic mani pedi today and came out so pleased with both our nails and the service! My mom refused to get out of the massage chair (jk… but it did take some bribing!) The nail technicians were so sweet and just made us feel so special and right at home! We will definitely be going back there again! I also really like the ease of being able to schedule my appointment online through their website! So easy and then I get reminders too!

I’ve been coming to TK nails for a few years now and each time, Vanessa and Lily always get me right! The set you see in this picture are my natural nails right after my acrylics got taken off. These ladies take very good care of my nails and I will be coming back!

Pedicure 10/10 Manicure 0/10 They were so nice and gentle with my pedicure nice warm water dud a great job. The manicure was a different person, very rough and my skin around my nails is mangled and looks awful. I asked for short square nails and she glued very tampered nails on. She never touched my cuticles other than with a drill which ripped them up. No oil or lotion on my hands.

My wife and my daughter went to this salon, and they both wanted a completely different type of nails. The women told them that she does it exactly like the picture, and then when my wife said that it doesn't look the same, the women told her that they don't do it exactly like the picture sometimes. My daughter was supposed to have coffin-shaped nails, but they did almond-shaped French tip nails, and it wasn't even a month, or even four weeks, and they are falling off. The color of my wife's nails is falling off, and it all was too expensive for those nails and an excessive price for such poor work.

If you decide to get any services done here make SURE you pay with a CC!! This place practically insists that you pay in cash… so happy I never did!! Their gel Polish completely chipped in less than two weeks. I setup an appointment to have them fixed and ended up waiting for over 30 minutes without my tech telling me she was running late OR apologizing for the wait. When she finally came to take me back, she just blamed me and made a ton of excuses as to why the polish chipped, completely unwilling to fix them!! I ended up having to go somewhere else and pay AGAIN for them to be done right. My experience was just overall TERRIBLE customer service! And I was seeing the OWNER, Fionna so you know it’s bad!! Thankfully I had paid using my credit card and was able to call and have my payment reimbursed. For all the headache and poor customer service I give this place a zero star review. There are a ton of other great nail salons in Ankeny that are HAPPY to have your business and treat you right. Don’t waste your time and your money with a business that thinks otherwise.
