Pon Nail Spa

This was my first time in after a friend recommended this place. My daughter and I wanted to get a set of basic acrylics with almond shape, nothing fancy literally just painted. Her nail person did a great job, her nails looked great. Mine on the other hand were terrible.. they were done by two different people. The lady who did my acrylics did not prep my nails, push cuticles back, or clean up my nails at all. My acrylics were so badly shaped and painted that I ended up calling 2 days later to have them fixed. When I called, they offered me a free pedicure for the inconvenience and a fix of my nails. Upon going back, the front desk told the nail lady to “reshape them”… she reshaped them and the shape was a little better but not much, they weren’t painted all the way and now a week and a half later one of the acrylics is lifting off. My left index finger nail also got placed crooked and the nail lady said “that’s because your finger is crooked”… uh no it’s not and as you can see on the pictures both of my middle finger nails point upwards… I was told it was because my natural nails point upwards….again no… I also did not get a pedicure and I feel the whole experience has turned me away from this place. Save your money.

I’ve tried two other nail salons in Ankeny and honestly didn’t enjoy the experience at either one — it always felt rushed, like I was being shuffled through without anyone really listening to what I wanted. Pon Salon was completely different. As soon as I walked in, they were attentive and actually helped me figure out a style and color that matched exactly what I had in mind. The tech took her time, paid attention to every detail, and did exceptional work. I left genuinely happy with my nails for the first time in a long time. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Seriously one of THE BEST nail salons ever. Everyone is very talented and pay a lot of attention to detail. They make sure that you leave the place fully satisfied. I definitely have to give a shout out to Anya for the nail art, just look at my picture and you’ll understand. 12/10 recommend you come here.

Pedicures are so nice, shellac polish on my nails didn’t last long, lots of use of hand sanitizer at work unfortunately. Only downside is that you must to tip in cash, can’t be added to your card and get charged to use their ATM.

Bella & Somphoe did an outstanding job taking care of my daughter and I for my special day! We started off with our manicures and got a pedicure as well. I can’t thank Bella enough for my nails. She was super attentive and I’m in love with how they turned out!
