Ankeny Nails

I’ve never had a worse experience in my entire life. I’m licensed in cosmetology and there wasn’t a single protocol they followed. They reused the same foot scrubber on me as another guest and used a nail file to get off my old polish. I told them at least five times don’t cut my nails and she brought out the clippers and I had to physically get up and stop her from cutting them because I told her it gives me awful ingrown toenails. She then used a little clipper and dug out ingrown toenails on my two big toes and cut the sides off of all of my other little toes that clearly weren’t ingrown so now I’m missing a lot of my nail. She polished my nails with the wrong color and I told her it wasn’t right and she kept going and then didn’t even get the polish on my toes correctly. It was missing a lot. I told her to fix it and she put a clearish coat over top my entire nail and my skin and it was gel so she cured it to my skin. I had three different toes bleeding and the top of one of my toes has a cut. I called today and asked for a refund and told them I would send them proof in pictures And she just kept telling me I had to come in and they would fix it even though I told her you can’t glue my toenails back on. Dirty disgusting place and they do an awful job. Plus with tax I paid $61 for a basic pedicure. I pay less at nice places. I looked on their website and it should’ve been $50. I asked her why I was charged more and she lied and made up their own prices

worst pedicure i’ve ever had. i had fairly long toe nails and she trimmed them way too close and uneven. my skin is all scraped up and my toes have never looked this bad in my life. she pretty much cut my toes nails off entirely and didn’t even paint the pinky one all the way and the nails are SO uneven. i am mortified and don’t want anyone to see my feet like this and toe nails take a very long time to grow back. save your $80 and just do them yourself. the owners seem incredibly nice but this is just terrible.

I have been at this place few times and my experience was okay. The staff is very friendly and I like the pedicure. But last time I was very disappointed. They charged me $70 for a refill which I think is crazy! My nail polish started peeling after a few days and I lost my nail in a little over a week! I couldn't really enjoy having nice nails for more than 3 days! When you raise the prices, the service should be better too! This was the last time I visited this place.

Worst pedicure of my life today. I work on my feet all day everyday and enjoy my time for pedicures. I tried Ankeny Nails today and they barely scrubbed my heel callous. I asked them to make the nails even and not jagged after seeing the shellac. The older woman doing my pedicure kept saying she didn’t know what I meant. A younger woman came over and somewhat fixed the shellac but obviously I was still disappointed in my toenails. They are not even filed evenly across. The lady checking me out asked if it was ok, and I very sadly said just ok. She looked at my toes and asked what was wrong, I gave her a quick summary of they’re not even and the shellac was done extremely sloppy. She asked if I was paying cash or card. Worst $60 basic shellac pedicure I’ve ever seen and experienced.

While they do their best to accommodate you, an appointment is recommended. Wife and I made an appointment and they got us right in when we arrived. She got a manicure and had her eyebrows waxed. The nails look great and Nancy does very detailed work. I had a long needed pedicure (note to men, give it a try, they are amazing) and my feet were rough. They have a Pearl add-on which adds some additional moisturizing and lower leg/foot massage and a paraffin wax treatment. The chairs are very comfortable and the massaging options on them are great. COVID PROTOCOLS: They seem very concerned about COVID and prevention. Ask you to wash your hands upon arriving. There is hand sanitizer and a plastic divider at the front stand. There are plastic dividers at each of the manicure tables.
