Could not recommend Karista enough! She is professional and personable behind the chair. She always manages to give me exactly what I am asking for and sometimes makes it even better than I imagined. She has been doing my hair since she was in school and has only gotten better overtime. She consults with me to make sure we get the best result for color and cut. Not to mention she has done my hair as a bride and as a bridesmaid 2 times. On top of that she also cuts my husband’s hair and always does a fantastic job with his beard and hair. She is truly an amazing young stylist!

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! I booked a much needed haircut with Sherry and she did not disappoint! Very clean, organized, professional, and comforting environment. Stylist Sherry was very kind natured, attentive, and really listened to my needs and concerns for today’s appointment, as I have a fear of haircuts. I will definitely be back! And a gorgeous ride on the way!

Jessie is incredible and this review is long overdue but so worth it. I’ve been with Jessie for almost 2 years. I came to her freshly postpartum and in need of a “mommy makeover”. I was blessed to have found Jessie from the start. Her holistic approach and organic coloring process set me at ease. I was still nursing and wanted to feel beautiful but without the harsh ingredients. Jessie is such a vibe, a girls GIRL, and of a family oriented mindset. She makes you feel so comfortable, nothing ever feels rushed or forced and she explains her vision for you with such detail and patience. But my favorite this, she is efficient. This woman is a PRO and to have her in my back pocket is a dream come true. I’ve spent years bouncing around from salon to salon just trying to find someone I meshed with that didn’t go “scissor happy” on my hair or make me instantly regret my decision. If you’re looking for someone who will make you look and feel years younger, someone you can trust and that you’ll stick with for a lifetime. It’s Jessie. I’ve been going to The Strand since 2020, right after moving to the area. I first went in looking for someone to do a wedding updo (because styling my own hair is not my strong suit!) and they made me feel so comfortable and in great hands. My hair looked amazing and stayed put all night, which completely won me over. Since then, I’ve been back for cuts and color, and now see Jessica — she’s the best! She always gives me the perfect longer layers that flatter my face and make my hair look and feel incredible. The salon always has good music, good vibes, and super easy online booking. My hair always looks so good after Jessica works her magic that I usually end up taking a car selfie before I even get home 😂 Highly recommend The Strand (and especially Jessica)!

My one and only ever Google Review. This place is awesome! A salon where men are just as welcome as the women. The work is top notch and professional, the vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and when walking in, it’s like Cheers…everyone knows your name. I’ve been going here for over 10 years for a reason. A hidden gem in Northeastern CT. It’s no surprise the parking lot is always full. Special shout out to owner and stylist Danielle— the best out there!
