Ocean Star Nail Spa

Everyone is so kind here I even tipped $10 But my nails didn’t turn out well at all. When I walked in I told the woman at the desk I was there for my appointment and began to pick a color from the fake nails painted with gel. I handed the man the nail color I picked and he found the polish and handed it to the nail tech. She applied my acrylic and filed it down but didn’t shape the sides the tips of my acrylic are wider than the top. When applying the top coat I noticed they were see through, I mentioned it and asked why they didn’t do a second coat or use the thin French tip brush because they just used the nail polish brush to which they said pick a different color this color is sheer you knew you picked a sheer color we told you… but you guys didn’t tell me you just decided to gaslight me so you wouldn’t have to redo them. but I liked my color and it didn’t appear sheer on the fake nail when I first chose it so I’m just not understanding why it couldn’t be painted like they advertised the color on the fake nail. I asked if they could take the top coat off or repaint it entirely and do two coats of the peach and they just did a coat of peach right on top of the top coat and then applied another coat of top coat. My nails were chunky, they looked like a child painted them. I didn’t say anything rude, I didn’t continue to waste their time I tipped and left and went to my usual salon and begged them to fit me in and fix them to which the owner stepped in and helped me and she was shocked they let people leave like this. If you’re black like another review stated go elsewhere please if you look at this nail “spas” reviews all the white hands are beautiful but now 2 reviews of black girls having a horrible experience this is so weird and unprofessional. My nails look NOTHING like other reviews posted here.

My first time at this nail spa, I was disappointed with the quality of the dip-powder manicure being that one of my nails broke off the next day, and another one a couple days later. The woman doing my nails seemed like she just wanted to get them done so she rushed through. I wrote a review expressing my concerns and the owner responded within an hour, apologizing and offering that I come in to get a completely new set free of charge. I am very delighted with how my new set turned out. The owner, Ryan, did them himself and took his time being extremely precise. The second time around the service was phenomenal, Ryan is a lovely person to talk to and he made sure that I left happy and that my nails were perfect. He recommended that I tried gel-x instead of dip powder for a longer lasting set and I am very glad he suggested that because these nails look more natural and feel so much stronger. I really appreciate him taking his time and being so polite, respectful and understanding. I tried to tip him $20 because of all of his efforts and he simply wouldn’t accept, I wish he would have because he more than deserved it for his work. Thank you again for redeeming yourself and putting in outstanding efforts for customer satisfaction.

I have been getting my nails done at Ocean Star for around a year and have never been disappointed with the outcome of my nails. They always do a fantastic job and are super friendly! The owners, in particular, are also very kind and helpful! They have enough staff for walk-ins and are overall very efficient! I highly recommend their nail salon!!

I wouldn’t recommend this salon. My technician cut my toe nails way too short and caused bleeding under both big toes. I had to let him know I was bleeding and he seemed surprised, despite it being obvious. During my manicure I asked him not to cut my cuticles and he said okay but cut them anyway, which also bled on both hands. Nearly the 12 hours later my toes are still painful. Bleeding and pain shouldn’t ever happen from spa services.

I came in today and I had some nails pics . Told her she can do any designs on it. I love the results! The nail tech did an amazing job on my nails! I’ll be back again!
