VS Nails and Spa

I tried this nail salon out for the first time the day before a Christmas party & it was just no good from beginning to end. First, I got a deluxe pedicure which states comes with a massage and I paid for an additional 10 minute massage. They began the foot massage at 1:14 and ended it at 1:24. Then I asked if they have a callus remover and she stated yes. She then took out the buffer pad and began scrubbing my foot. I asked about the callus softener and she refused to give it to me stating that it would damage my skin because I “don’t have enough calloused skin” which I’ve never been told before. Instead, she said she can scrub more. That hurt my feet and left them looking even worse than before. You can see the callused skin left on my feet as well as the skin that’s ripping off by my heels. When she shaped my toes I asked for square and she made the right big toe shaped at a huge angle. I asked for her to fix it and had to explain that “the nail ends all the way down here on the right and goes all the way up to the top of my toe on the left. It was fixed to look better, but still slightly angled as the lower side went down way too far to match it. I then had to ask her to file down the left foot because now that nail was much longer than on my right foot. Their color selection was sparse. The one color I found that I liked and was Christmasy they said they ran out of. So I just had them put white on my toes and said I’ll just put my own top coat on it when I get home. Then for my manicure I got a gel deluxe manicure. She handed me an array of colors on a keychain to flip through. I asked her 3 separate times if that was all they had for gel colors and she said yes. So I picked the only color I liked from it since that selection was also very small. While I was sitting at the station, I noticed some additional samples on the wall with what looked like could’ve been matching polish bottles so I asked if they were gel or regular polish. I was told they were gel. So they did have additional colors to choose from. I asked to change to a color I liked from there instead and pointed to a matte red color. The nail tech agreed but seemed annoyed with me. When she went to put the top coat on I realized that it didn’t look matte so I asked if it was the matte top coat. She then said” you wanted matte” I said yes, please. She then said “ thank you for letting me know you wanted the matte” which im pretty sure was sarcastic because she had already put a regular top coat on one of my nails. Then when she was shaping my nails, they are all wonky. Half of them are at angles instead of straight, and one of them is flared out on both sides at the top. I tried to post pictures but I feel like they didn’t capture the weird shaping that well. I got a deluxe manicure which was also supposed to come with a massage, never got one. The entire time the nail tech came off as annoyed with me, even when I left and tipped 20%, she came off as cold. I had to make an appointment with a different nail salon to get my nails fixed because it was so bad my sister insisted that I fix them. I won’t be back, obviously.

I recently visited this salon to get a dip powder with tips. I’m not a nail expert but I’ve had it done before. The nail tech agreed with my request and there wasn’t much of an explanation. She mentioned something about acrylic, which she explained was the tips and I said okay because I’m looking to grow out my natural nails. Coming to the end, I notice my nails were looking lumpy and show the tech, and she says “Okay one minute.” I’m not entirely sure what she was doing but I asked a couple more times about it and she came off as if annoyed that I kept asking why did they look so lumpy. She repeated herself but gave no explanation. There is a sign that says to let them know if you don’t like something and they’ll fix it. I did but the tech just brushed me off. I didn’t want to be a problem so I just paid and left. When I went home, I couldn’t help but call back because the nails looked atrocious. I called and they said to come back and they would redo them. Well, they just gave me a lazy gel x job, and the nails started popping off a week later. I chose this place out of all the place near me because of the good reviews they had and honestly it was not a good experience. It just seemed very lazy. I guess it wasn’t the place for me.

My nails always look amazing leaving here. And what’s most important to me: they last. Quality work- and this is coming from someone who is very hard on their nails! Highly recommend the structured gel mani- and VS in general. They do an amazing job!

I went there for my first time today with a lifted nail and they fixed it so nicely, the lady i was with was so nice and she worked very fast, I love how organized the process is and how making the appointment is so straight forward and easy, I would definitely recommend to a friend.

I’ve been a client at VS Nails for nearly two years and had a very negative experience recently. I always book one to two weeks ahead of time because I only have Saturdays open due to work. Often, I receive a text a few days before more appointment stating that my appointment has been rescheduled 15-30 min earlier or later and I usually accept it if I don’t have another appointment. It’s not a question, can you accommodate a time change, they just reschedule you. I scheduled my most recent appointment 2 weeks ahead of time and received a text three days before that my appointment was rescheduled from 12:30 to 1:00. I called to inform them that I couldn’t do 1:00 because of another appointment. I was told that the person before me wanted special designs and it would last until 1:00. I said that my 12:30 appointment had been accepted two weeks earlier. They offered to book me with someone different and I stated that I wanted to keep my usual nail tech. They stated that they’d put me back to 12:30. I arrived at 12:30, and, at 12:50, after not being taken, stated that I had to leave for my next appointment. I was hurt that, after two years of being a loyal, dedicated client, I was treated this way. My husband recently gave a $25 tip for his pedicure and I always tip extremely generously and appreciate all the service that I receive. I planned on bringing more family to VS Nails however they have now lost multiple dedicated, loyal clients.
