I normally don’t leave reviews like this, however since my message to the business went ignored and I’ve since filed a formal complaint with DORA after this experience, and I feel other clients deserve to know what happened. I scheduled a Gel-X removal and basic overlay manicure with Scarlet Ainsley and left with physical injuries, unsanitary exposure, and damage I’m still trying to recover from. Here’s what went wrong: • I was not allowed to wash my hands before the service began. After soaking in acetone and filing for over an hour, I had to ask more than once just to rinse. That should be basic sanitation. • She used a nail file that was not new or sanitized. When I asked, she told me files are only discarded after pedicures—which is not safe or acceptable. • She filed my cuticles so roughly that multiple bled. I left with raw, painful skin and open wounds on more than one finger. I have photo documentation from two days later to show the extent of the damage. • The nails she applied began bubbling and chipping the same night. Despite being in the chair for nearly two hours, the set failed within six. • When I asked why she didn’t use an electric file, she said “you have to be licensed to use those.” This is inaccurate—licensed nail techs are trained to use e-files. Her response made me question her level of training and understanding of her own scope of practice. I’ve since had to remove the product myself, treat my hands, and still dealing with thin, peeling and split natural nails. I reached out to the salon privately and received no response. No client should leave a licensed salon bleeding, in pain, and emotionally distressed after a basic manicure. The pink and black set are what my hands normally look like. We recently came in for a haircut for my daughter. While the initial cut didn’t turn out quite right with the cut not being straight nor having any layers, the young lady attempted a second time, which shortened my daughters hair another inch more than what my daughter wanted off and was still not straight or had layers. One of the other stylists (I really wish I caught her name!) noticed my frustration as we were leaving and kindly offered to fix it. She took the time to correct the cut with care and professionalism, and we really appreciated her stepping up. She didn’t have to go out of her way, but she absolutely did—and it made a big difference! I cannot thank her enough for doing the right thing and making sure my daughter left feeling confident. Again, I wish I caught her name who fixed my daughters hair and highly recommend her. She knew what she was doing. So Thank you again!

Kendrah is a Master of her craft!! I went in for a color correction, showed her pictures and was expecting to have to come back at least one more time to get similar results. After a very nice conversation during the process,,,,, the moment of truth... I was shocked! She nailed it, exactly what I had wanted!! Then a great cut and style to top it off, I would recommend her for anyone, she was just AMAZING :) Also... I was impressed with the online system they have. Evveryone is busy now and that is just so much easier than phone calls. I emailed on a Saturday, and Lori emailed me back the same day. Great customer service all around!!

This Salon has the upmost professional, skilled and kind stylists in town! I had a terrible experience at another local salon (note; my hair was orange) and was very upset, basically an emotional mess. I immediately went to Salon De Cheveux, because I had a good experience there before (I'd like to note I was an idiot for trying another salon) There I met Bailey, she was so kind and full of compassion. She looked at my hair and confidently told me my hair could be fixed and she gently added some product to my hair because it was a frizzy mess. Bailey was able to schedule me in for a corrective color early the next day. Bailey did and amazing job! She is a rock star. Not only did my hair color turn out amazing, she provided such a relaxing and reassuring experience. I won't be a fool again and go anywhere else. For as long as I live in Canon City I will be a returning client at Salon De Cheveux. Thank you Bailey you are the sweetest person!

I cannot say enough about how amazing my experience was at this place, I will be going here for a very long time. They set up a consultation to help me figure out what I wanted, tell me what would work best for my hair, and give me a price range. Everybody was so nice, I even got a call, telling me not to park on main street because I might get stuck while they were doing trick-or-treating. They went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable and that I liked what I was getting. I can’t even describe how happy I am with the results, taking me from dirty blonde to a strawberry blonde color. forever thankful 🙏🙏
