Glossy Nail Bar

I really liked Glossy Nail Bar! The aesthetic, going inside, workers, and the overall experience were very nice. But when I got my nails done, they were lumpy instead of smooth, which made me think they’d break easier. It’s been over a month and only one nail has chipped, which is really good and my favorite part about my gel manicure, but I still can’t get over how the polish went on lumpy and made my nails feel more susceptible to breaking. Overall, I liked the salon, but paying about $50 with the student discount for most of my nails to come out lumpy isn’t really worth it for me.

The best hard gel manicure!!!! I asked if they could do something festive for Christmas and the manicurist did an absolutely amazing job!! She checked in with me multiple times in the beginning to make sure the length and shape was as I wanted. Then she worked her magic to ensure absolutely perfect nails…exceptional with the builder gel and checking to make sure the length and shape was uniform across all 10 fingers. Then she added nail art, which I don’t usually do except for the holidays. I’m so thrilled!!!!

I had a nice experience at Glossy Nail bar. I got a regular pedicure and gel manicure. Everything went smoothly, but I felt somewhat rushed as I was in and out in no more than 30 minutes. A couple days later and I am super disappointed, as both my nails and toes have already chipped in less than 48 hours. I rarely get my nails done, so this was not the experience I hoped for.

UPDATE: I spoke with Owen in regards to my experience. He told me last Sunday (almost a week ago) that I was going to get a refund; the refund still has yet to be received. Additionally, my nails have already chipped within a week of getting them done. Trust, I wouldn’t fake a rash to use sick leave so I could go to the doctor and waste 3 hours of my time as well as money to pay for the visit when I was simply just trying to get some self care. Not to mention, the salon was trying to tell me the rash happened because I recently shaved my legs (not true - I shaved them over a week prior to getting a pedicure. Everyone in my family knows I’m not a regular shaving gal). Beware of this shady place and their fake reviews (ie: users who only review the nail salon and say the same thing to counter honest reviews like mine). 7/13: I had a gel pedicure and gel manicure on Friday, July 11. The atmosphere was great, people were nice. I wish they had scrubbed my calluses a bit more. Following my appointment, I broke out in this rash. I hope they’ll take their cleanliness into consideration next time as it’s extremely painful and bothersome to deal with. Makes me regret the service and money paid.

I recently moved to the SLO area and am happy to have found this nail salon! Whatever design I bring them, they absolutely nail it (pun intended!). The staff is sweet and efficient; services are not overly long and their prices are reasonable. My nails also last for a very long time!
